REMEMBERING SEPTEMBER 11 As the anniversary of 9/11 approaches, many of us will remember with great detail where we were as we watched that surreal day in history unfold. The shock of trauma will always embed in our memory. Those old enough to remember JFK's death will agree that certain memories do not fade with the passing of time. In our shock and anger we as a nation were swept up in a vortex of raw emotion that very quickly led to the War on Terror that 10 years later rages on with no clear end in sight. Sadly, wars are never short, and are always costly in more ways than one. Enter Erik Lawyer, a regular guy and a firefighter from Seattle. Erik like many others was angry about 9/11. Over the years he witnessed that the fear and anger that ensued has been destructive and mostly counterproductive. After he experienced his own personal shift from fear to love he came to see that the only way to move beyond the problems and towards the solutions is through love and forgiveness. States Erik, "When I choose love not only do I see the best qualities in me and those around me, but more loving and passionate people just show up in my life." Erik was inspired to organize "ONE: THE EVENT" as a way to help shift our planet from fear to love. Taking place over three days in Seattle from September 9th to September 11th, this live event will bring people together from all over the world to exchange ideas and engage in a new dialog to strategize our transformation from fear and hate into love. We can all watch the event and be involved from home because ONE: THE EVENT will be live via webcast. And culminating in a global synchronized moment occurring on 9/11 at 10:46 PM GMT (6:46 PM PDT and 3:46 PM EDT) everyone is asked to stop for one minute and harness a collective intention to shift to love-based collaborative solutions that will end the age of fear and isolation. We already know that our thoughts feelings and emotions send out an energetic vibration out into the field. Imagine millions of hearts all over the world opening up and sending out the vibration of love all at the exact moment. I don't know about you, but watching and hearing about all the death and mayhem leaves me feeling pretty powerless. I know we can all turn off the news and stop reading the papers, but that won't do anything to solve the problem. Perhaps knowing that I can add my own personal vibration of love and peace and forgiveness at that moment with everyone else gives me a sense of empowerment. Consider stopping for one minute on Sunday September 11th at the designated time and join me. Click here to read all about One: The Event. Please take one minute out of your busy day to watch the video invitation. It is quite moving. Mother Theresa said, "Love is like a fruit that is available all seasons, and there for any hand that reaches out for it." |
