abundanceThe Vibration of Abundance
Nowhere in the Bible, or in any other sacred text for that matter, are we instructed to play small, worry and live a life of misery. Quite the contrary, the Biblical directive goes something like, "I give you life, so you can live it more abundantly." Along with that, we are instructed to hand our worries and fears over to God, and go out into the world to enjoy and prosper. The only source of our beliefs of lack and limitation comes from everything mainstream, which does a great job of convincing us rather early on that we are powerless and not enough, thus perpetuating within us a constant search for happiness and fulfillment  outside of ourselves.

Webster's defines abundance as an ample quantity. If money or material possessions alone created abundance, all rich people would be inherently happy, and we all know that is not the case. In all actuality, abundance has nothing to do with money, although the feeling that is created when you buy something you really want can cause a feeling of abundance. Abundance therefore is a mindset. It's created when our beliefs, thoughts and resultant feelings create a particular vibration or resonance; one that has to power to manifest right to our doorstep! Remember, this is a magnetizing Universe. Everything is energy which vibrates; and the Law of Attraction is a Universal law. Energy follows thoughts, so it makes sense that if you think the thoughts that generate the vibration of abundance, you will start to attract similar vibrations just like a magnet.

If you find yourself focusing on lack, not enough, or on what is missing in your life, start by attempting to shift your focus to what you already have. As the saying goes, the glass is either half empty, or glass half full. You get to decide what you see.  What you see is what you get. Like a loving parent the Universe is generous and benevolent and is always there to support us. The problem is that we are so busy complaining we can't see the gifts. Don't ignore the green light, the parking spot, the bargain you got, the compliment someone gave you or your ability to pay your bills. Developing the habit of gratitude is your most powerful tool in order to manifest what you want in life. We have a holiday this month called Thanksgiving, where we express our gratitude for our blessings by gathering our loved ones and celebrating at the table of plenty. I think that is why Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday.  Why wait for one day a year. Make y
our every prayer, every day "Thank You."
hand soapThe Truth about Antibacterial Soaps
You cannot go anywhere today without seeing the pump bottles and having the option to douse your hands with some antibacterial sanitizer. We have become obsessed with germs today, and rightfully so. Infections like MRSA (Methacillin Resistant Staph Aureus) can be deadly, so it is wise to want to prevent yourself from becoming a host to a superbug. However, is the continual use of antibacterial soaps a good thing? Many experts are now saying no, that antibacterial hand soaps and other antibacterial products can actually create health problems.

One of the more common ingredients found in almost all antibacterial soaps is Triclosan. Registered as a pesticide by the EPA, Triclosan's chemical formulation is similar to some of the most toxic chemicals on earth, like dioxins and PCB's. Triclosan will kill not only bacteria, but human cells as well. It is considered to be an endocrine disrupter. Studies have shown that triclosan in soaps and detergents reacts with chlorinated water to produce inappropriately high levels of chloroform, which is a probable human carcinogen. By the way, Triclosan is also in common everyday products like toothpastes and deodorant as well as dish and laundry detergent. To see a list of common daily products that contain Triclosan, click here. You will be surprised.

Antibacterial soaps kill any and all type of bacteria and are not limited to disease causing bugs only. Thus it kills the friendly bacteria as well. Good bacterial are plentiful and well needed as they aid in metabolism and inhibit the invasion of harmful pathogens. We don't want to kill off our good bacteria. Antibacterial soaps are useless in cases of infection that are caused by viruses, a far more common cause. The use of antibacterial soaps might do more harm than good when it comes to young children who are developing their own immune system. It has been found that it is necessary to be exposed to germs in order to develop a healthy immune system. Those that don't may go on to develop allergies and asthma. Overuse of antibacterial agents has been found to be associated with environmental problems as well.

It is far better to wash your hands several times a day with good old fashioned soap and hot water. It's even better to practice prevention and all that it entails. This means eating nutritious foods, drinking plenty of healthy water, avoiding processed refined and chemically laden food, getting sunshine and exercise everyday, taking good food based vitamins and minerals, taking quality fish oil and Vitamin D3, and decreasing stress in your life. All these serve to keep your immune system strong which is ultimately what will determine whether or not your body will be a host to the infectious organism.

 The Sweet Potato
sweet potato plantBelieve it or not, the sweet potato is not a potato at all. It's a member of the morning glory family. Originating in South America, one of the oldest vegetables known to man and around since prehistoric times, there are numerous reasons to eat them. Sweet potatoes are starchy carbohydrates that are high in fiber and rich in beta-carotene, a powerful antioxidant. Sweet potatoes are high in Vitamin A, Vitamin B6 and potassium and even contain calcium as an added benefit. An article in the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry stated that the sweet potato contained an extract that has chemo-preventive or cancer fighting properties. If all that weren't enough, sweet potatoes contain the powerful anti-inflammatory quercetin.

Sweet potatoes are a nice substitute for the white potato which not only lacks in nutritional benefit, but ends up like a lump of sugar by the time it hits your digestive system. If you have weight concerns or are trying to control your blood glucose, you should definitely avoid white potatoes. Although sweet potatoes are a starchy vegetables and can raise glucose levels, many report that they have a lower glycemic index when compared to white. Thus, they can be enjoyed in moderate amounts and as part of a meal that contains protein and vegetables and healthy fat to slow the absorption process.

Baking sweet potatoes and then refrigerating them to take with you to work or after a workout at the gym provides a sweet and tasty snack, far healthier than anything you will buy at a vending machine. Enjoy them not just on Thanksgiving Day, but as part of a health conscious way of life.

attitude Your Greatest Asset
Everyday you wake up an decide what clothes you are going to wear for the day. You also decide what you are going to eat. You make choices all day long, but do you know what your most important decision is? It's deciding what attitude you are going to take ourselves out into the world in. After your smile, it's the next thing people will notice about you.Your attitude speaks volumes about who you are.

William James said. "The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitude." If that is true, it behooves us to pay close attention to the attitude that we decide we will wear for the day. Attitudes are contagious, is yours worth catching?

tina 1"It is my passion and desire to contribute to the betterment of the world by spreading the message that a state of well being is for everyone. No matter how old you are, or what stage you are in, or what you have been through, I believe that you can find your way back to the Wholeness that was always your birthright.  We are born magnificent beings but get conditioned into mediocrity. It is up to you to pick up the map to find your way back. And I'll help you anyway I can. "If you want to know the quality of what you radiate, just observe how people respond to you. They are your mirror." Gary Craig.

Have a great month!
