 Using Moodle as a Learning Management System in the ELA classroom


Debby Caven, eClass4learning instructor, will share real classroom examples of how Moodle was used for book study in a blended online format with 6th grade students.  This session will cover wikis, literature circles, blogs and other activities that were integrated into the learning strategies.

Racine Blended Learning Cohort

Description: In this nine week course teachers will participate as online students using various tools in Moodle (i.e. discussion boards, online glossary, online assessments, blogs, wikis, uploading of documents). Teachers will also set up your own hybrid course in Moodle. The purpose of the course is to supplement teaching you already do face-to-face and create a learning environment where students can continue to learn beyond classroom walls.

Course Start Date: March 12th 4-7pm face-to-face, the remainder of the course is online.

Registration Fee: $300

Participants can also receive three graduate credits for $330 through Viterbo University. Participants who successfully complete the course can receive a certificate of completion that meets the WI Requirements for teaching online.

 


 

 

 Moodle Jumpstart Course

 

Our next Moodle Jumpstart course begins March 12th. This introductory online course is designed to help users master basic technical skills needed to create a course in Moodle 2+.

New! The purpose of this manual is to help school administrators determine which configuration settings are important to consider prior to opening Moodle to their students and staff. It is not an exhaustive list of all Moodle 2+ settings. The Sun Prairie School District is hosting a Moodle Moot Conference August 6th and 7th. We are currently looking for presenters. The Presenter Application is due February 15th.



Save the Date!  edCamp Milwaukee will be taking place Saturday, May 12, 2011 at the South Milwaukee School District.

 

Alaska Learning Network
eClass4learning is proud to have been chosen to work with Alaska's Learning Network to work with teachers across the state to develop ten new online courses for K-12 students that will be delivered across the state. 

Participants will create the courses as part of a three credit graduate course and will meet one week in Anchorage in late February and one week in Wrangell in July.
