Focus on the ISTE NETS Standards
Creativity & Innovation

by Tammy Stephens

Each month we will devote this column in our newsletter to how PODetc Courses help educators meet the standards The International Society of Technology Education has developed National Education Technology Standards.

This month we will be examining the standards:
1a. apply existing knowledge to generate new ideas, products, or processes.
and 1b. create original works as a means of personal or group expression.

Both of these standard are taught in our Creativity & Innovation in the Classroom Course taught by Connie Jaeger and our STEM course taught by Dr. Victoria Lovejoy.

In both courses, students work collaboratively to create virtual mindmaps to make meaning of the concepts they are studying. Both courses are being offered for graduate credit through the University Wisconsin Green Bay, June 14- July 9th.

More information is available through the PODetc Website.
