Please Welcome our Newest PODetc Instructor!
|
Please welcome Connie Jaeger, our newest PODetc instructor.
Connie has over thirty years of educational experience. She has worked with K-12 students and faculty
as a math/computer science teacher, technology integration specialist, and
instructional technology coordinator.
Two of her special areas of emphasis over the past four years have
included the implementation and support of online learning in the K-12
environment and one-to-one computing. Connie has been an advocate for the innovative
use of technology to support student learning. She strongly believes that
curriculum must drive the use of technology.
Connie will be teaching the PODetc course Creativity & Innovation in the Classroom. The next session starts November 2nd.

Focus on STEM
|
PODetc is pleased to announce a new course available to educators for graduate credit through the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. Business futurists predict that the careers our students will choose from will all have foundations in science, technology, engineering and math. To that end, many schools are developing programs with a focus on STEM. STEM is not a new entity or fad that we need to adopt, but is instead a shift in perspective. The goal of STEM programs is to allow students authentic experiences in these four areas in order to develop basic problem solving competencies that are applicable to all careers. PODetc is thrilled to be offering a collaborative course to show educators how to harness valuable online resources to make this critical shirt.
The first section of this course will be offered November 2nd. Visit our website for more information.

Diigo
|
Diigo is a free online social bookmarking tool. This tool allows groups to research collaboratively. It also allows users to highlight and annotate web content for others to see. Diigo also allows users in a group to set up a discussion board. Diigo is one of the tools that students learn to use in Tech Literacy 102: Building Knowledge Management Systems. The next time this course will be offered is November 2nd.
