Prayer and Action Needed!

Thursday,  July 14, 2011

Each month, the Lord seems to be requiring us to depend more and more on Him for our daily bread. And each month, you, as a Daily Jot subscriber have answered the call. It is amazing that out of the thousands who receive this email, our budget is met almost exactly each month. Your gifts have made it possible to bring Christ to thousands in a very unique and effective way through this ministry.

This month is very special. We currently are running about $950 under our budget. In addition, I am putting together a very critical mission trip to Africa, a cost of about $3,500 of which I have raised $1,000. We need your prayer and action this month for about $2,500. Let me tell you why.

In addition to The Daily Jot, the Jot ministry is also putting our words into action. I have been working with William Agbeti of Ghana, West Africa since 1992. Together, and with the Lord's strength, we have built houses for the poor, have established the first ministry in West Africa to the handicapped, and we are now expanding our ministry work there. Last year, we started training pastors to head out to the rural areas and establish churches. It doesn't sound like much, but let me explain further.

In Ghana, like much of West Africa, Muslim gangs sweep through rural areas, killing the town elders, raping the women and then establishing their control over the land and the village. They take over the finances, the farms, the businesses, and the only way one can even eat is by submitting to or converting to Islam. Law enforcement looks the other way because of fear of retribution. Not even the media will dare report these atrocities.

William and these brave pastors we are training are risking their lives to establish Christian alternatives. Now this is church like the Acts church. There are praise and worship services, there is outreach, and there is feeding programs for the poor and the children, and help in establishing private enterprise for self-sufficiency.

We are starting a new training class soon and it is now time that I return to Ghana to help with the ministry, the feeding program and review the effort that we might plan for the growth that is occurring. My plan is to lead a small missions team there from August 27 through September 7. This is where I need your help.

There are some things that I need to assist with financially once I get there (to make the food program more effective, help establish an actual food bank, and come along side these pastors in general).

I was wondering if you can help in any way with the funding of this critical missions trip in addition to our current budget needs?

If the Lord lays it on your heart to do so, I know that our brothers and sisters in Africa will be well served by your blessing of this trip. You can give a tax deductible gift by sending your check by August 1 to:

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking this under consideration. And I know the Lord will bless you as well. I'll surely report back on all the great things that I know will happen in Ghana. Thanks again and God bless you.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
