Thursday, May 12, 2011 Your Daily Dose of Deception The Apostle Paul uses the third chapter of his second letter to Timothy to explain that in the latter days vanity, deception and corruption will be institutionalized in society. He writes in 3:8,9 "Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was." These days must be those latter days Paul was describing. The watchdog of society, the free media, is deceiving and lying to the people it serves while at the same time explaining just how they are lying as if the science behind the lie justifies the lie. Imagine the headline: President's approval hits 60%. This is an actual headline on a story by Associated Press. The story proclaims that the president's approval ratings have skyrocketed to their highest point in two years, 60%, and that more than half of Americans "now say he deserves to be re-elected." The story goes on to explain how worrisome these revelations are to Republicans because the president's standing with the American people in all areas of his presidency have improved greatly since the alleged assassination of Osama bin Laden. The story is laced with quotes about how the president made the right decision and how people are now saying they will vote for him again. But here is the reason such accolades are forthcoming: The poll sample purposely was skewed to reflect a majority ratio of Democratic to Republican respondents--by a 46% to 29% margin! But the skewed results are attributed to all "Americans." AP reveals this methodology in the 17th paragraph of the story. AP explains, "In this poll, 46 percent of respondents identified themselves as Democrats or leaning that way, while 29 percent said they were Republicans or leaning to the GOP. How people identify their leanings fluctuates in polls along with their other political opinions." And AP says this is how it conducts polls. The problem is that this ratio does not reflect the actual Democrat to Republican population ratio. The average American has no idea that these types of polls are routinely skewed to the liberal bias and that is why public opinion always appears to favor the liberal agenda. Its a lie. When polls are conducted to determine where a political candidate stands with the electorate, great care is taken to guarantee the statistically most accurate and representative sample of the population so as to give a clear picture of the candidate's chances. Media polls, however, are admittedly skewed to reflect the story the media wishes to feed the people. You better have your discernment antennae working these days as Paul warned: evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived." Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
