Statement by Matthew Harrison

Grace and peace in Jesus, "the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls" (1 Peter 2:25)!This morning, Sunday, December 19, 2010, I personally informed the pastor, elders and members of Village Lutheran Church, Ladue, Missouri, that I had accepted the congregation's call to serve as their assistant pastor. The call was not acted upon hastily, or without significant consultation. In providing you with the following information, I want to lay out for you a brief explanation of the personal and theological reasons why I am taking this path.Click here to read full statement.

"Connections that Make a Difference"
How can you spread the word?
An Opportunity Coming in January LSA has a remarkable opportunity to win a share of $1 million in the Thrivent Choice Winter Voting Event, January 17 - February 28, 2011. Imagine what a difference even a portion of that pot could make for support and leadership of LSA member organizations!
We can dream of the opportunities, but first we need to "earn" our share. That's where you come in. We hope you will help LSA reach out to Thrivent members before and during the Winter Voting Event, January 17 - February 28.
We Need Your Help to Get Ready What are some ways you can spread the word? Pass it on to the person in your organization who can ... · Include the "Vote for LSA" button on your website home page. · Add the "Vote for LSA" signature line to your e-mails during the voting period. · Include a short article or mini advertisement in your print or electronic newsletter. · Send a special message to your constituency before or during the voting period.
I'm sure you will think of other ways to help LSA connect to its share of $1 million. Together we can!
Let Us Know How to Help You Help Us Help You More details and links to support materials will be available in January. Meanwhile, please let me know if you have any questions or would like to share ideas of how you can spread the word: jschumann@lutheranservices.org.

These new rates apply to mileage reimbursements paid to an employee on or after January 1, 2011 with respect to transportation expenses paid or incurred by the employee on or after January 1, 2011. The rate used for charitable deduction purposes, set by statute rather than IRS, remains at 14¢ per mile. |
