Greetings Families Forward Volunteer!
Where did summer go? So much has been going on here at Families Forward that the time has flown by! We are happy to share with you our upcoming fall events and give you a recap of what we have been up to this summer.
We continue to serve many local families in crisis and are inspired by their spirit and desire to return to self-sufficiency. Thank you for your support, which enables us to help improve the lives of these families.

Families Forward's annual "No Place Like Home" Gala is almost upon us! We hope you'll be able to join us on Saturday, September 22 at the Fairmont Newport Beach Hotel for an exciting, fun-filled evening.
- Ticket Price: $250 Tables of 10: $2,500
- Silent Auction - amazing baskets and items, including trips to Cabo and Mammoth and tons of local restaurants and theme parks.

It's that time of year again! Opportunity Drawing tickets are back and available for purchase. You could be the lucky winner of a brand new 64GB iPad, smart cover, and $500 in iTunes gift cards. Sign up or Renew Now! - Ralph's Community Contribution Program
Families Forward wants YOU... to use your Ralph's rewards card! When you link your rewards card to Families Forward through the Community Contribution Program, you help us every time you shop for groceries! It's free to participate and costs you nothing extra at checkout. Last year, Ralph's donated almost $1,000 to Families Forward through this program, so what are you waiting for?! Grab that card, sign up, and start shopping!
For those of you who have already linked your Ralphs card and have been helping us earn much needed funding - thank you! Ralphs policy does require that the information be updated by each participant each and every year after September 1st. Even if you've participated before, you still need to re-enroll each year in order to help Families Forward.

Annual "State of the Family" Meeting and Donor Appreciation Event
- July 19th 
Thank you to everyone who braved the sweltering heat and attended our Annual Meeting and Donor Appreciation event on July 19! There were over fifty volunteers, donors, board members, supporters, and community representatives in attendance. We listened to a courageous graduate of our transitional housing program talk about Families Forward's impact on her life, and Mark Harryman, Board President, discussed the future of our agency and what lies ahead for Families Forward over the next year. We hope this was an enjoyable and informative event for you, and we appreciate your continued support! |

Job Launch Workshops!
Offered by our Career Coach here at Families Forward, these workshops help sharpen individuals' job search skills. Interviewing questions, strategies, resumes and tough questions are addressed to help people re-enter the job application process. Registration is necessary; click here to view a schedule of workshops. |
Back to School Comes to a Close
Our Back to School program is winding down and we managed to hand out over 700 backpacks and school supplies in August! Thank you to all of the volunteers and donors who helped make this program possible. Because of you, hundreds of low-income children now have the tools they need to return to school. |
Help Feed Local Familes!
Look for our volunteers on September 15th & 16th!
Did you know that Families Forward serves over 400 families a month in our food pantry?
Families Forward volunteers will be stationed at 18 grocery stores around South Orange County, in the cities of Irvine, Tustin and Newport Beach, collecting food donations to keep our food pantry shelves full.
Currently we are low on these items:
1. Canned beans (all kinds)
2. Soup
3. Cereal
4. Peanut Butter
5. Spaghetti Sauce
