HHD-drill More than 200 volunteers launched the 14th Annual United Way Helping Hands Day August 29.  Over 50 improvement projects were completed for people with disabilities, the elderly and non-profit organizations.  Project requests included facility repairs and renovations, beautification projects and house and yard work.  View Pictures
$2 Million Goal Announced

The 2009 Campaign Cabinet met August 26, 2009 to discuss preparations for this year's annual fundraising campaign.  According to Executive Director Suzanne Zutter, the members of the cabinet are optimistic for the upcoming campaign setting a goal of $2 million, an increase of $150,000 from last year's campaign.
 "This goal is ambitious but realistic", said Jim Pearce, campaign chair, "as we begin this year's campaign we want the community to be thankful for what we have and reach out to those in need.  We are truly asking the community to take care of our own."  Read More
Welcome Katie Monroe
Katie
  Katie Monroe has filled the Director of Regional Partnerships position at United Way.
  Katie will coordinate the planning, implementation and evaluation of the Wyoming Kids First of Sweetwater County, an Initiative of the Wyoming Early Childhood Partnership planning grant that United Way was awarded.
  The Wyoming Kids First Initiative and Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, will help the group build an early childhood network and identify service needs for children from birth to age 8. The stated goal is to ensure the delivery of quality early childhood education and care, comprehensive family support systems and inclusive quality health and mental health systems.
