Vacation homes & family memories are meant to be year round.
At Lake Chapin Shores, we don't build summer homes -- we build year round lifestyle homes which, like southwest Michigan, are meant to be enjoyed all year round. So much more than an investment in real estate, a second home is a safe haven for families to come together, enjoy each other's company and conversation and create generations of lasting memories, free from the daily routine and distractions. It offers a unique opportunity for cherished moments with family and friends in a relaxed setting during all four seasons. Anyone who has grown up with access to a vacation home can relate to the benefits and indelible memories of their youth, time spent playing with family and vacation friends who became lifelong friends. Their childhood vacation home experience represents a getaway from city grit and grime and an introduction to outdoor exercise and water sports, unlimited running space and a close-up of nature's wonder.
For many, it was their first exposure to things like fishing, exploring the woods, catching frogs, spotting deer and other wildlife, swimming in the lake, boating and water-skiing, hikes on a fall day with the trees ablaze in color, roasting marshmallows over crackling campfire, snow shoeing a local trail, landing a 20 pound salmon, biking local trails, a tractor ride at a nearby fruit orchard, a fall festival, picking apples, carving a pumpkin from a local farm, golfing, horseback riding, cross country skiing, tubing, tobogganing, sporting clays, enjoying a local fair, outdoor concerts on the beach, and climbing sky-scraping sand dunes.
For all of them, the days spent away from everyday "city" life become an enlightening education about living life more fully and discovering that time with the family can be more fun than time with friends.
Turn your resolution to spend more quality time with your family into reality by investing in lifelong family memories at Lake Chapin Shores.

Michigan's Sleeping Bear Dunes Voted 'Most Beautiful Place in America' on ABC's 'Good Morning America'
|
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, tucked away in the northwest corner of Michigan's Lower Peninsula, won the title of "Good Morning America's" Most Beautiful Place in America.
Tens of thousands of viewers voted online for this Michigan park, which is one of the nation's best-kept secrets. The hidden gem boasts 64 miles of beaches along Lake Michigan, two islands, 26 inland lakes, more than 50,000 acres of land, and the monumental sand dunes from which it gets its name.
In June, "GMA" set out in search of the most beautiful places in America. Viewers nominated their favorite places online, sending in thousands of photos from across the country showcasing spectacular sunsets, regal mountaintops and jaw-dropping views, many with awe-inspiring stories to match.
From there "GMA" narrowed the field down to 10 -- Sleeping Bear Dunes, Mich.; Newport, R.I.; Cape Cod, Mass.; Point Reyes, Calif.; Aspen, Colo.; Sedona, Ariz; Destin, Fla.; Asheville, N.C.; Lanikai Beach, Hawaii; and Grand Teton National Park, Wyo.

St. Joseph, Michigan - One of the Best Places to Retire
|
Ranks 11 of "Money Magazine's" Top 25
The Lake Michigan coastline has lots of appealing little towns dotting the "Riviera of the Midwest," but St. Joseph--with its vibrant year-round community, top-notch medical care and proximity to Chicago-- (and just 22 minutes from Lake Chapin Shores) stands out.
Its downtown features bakeries, boutiques, and other local businesses in historic buildings along the bluff overlooking the lake. Visitors traveling along the coast just outside town and you can climb giant sand dunes, visit an old lighthouse, and sample locally grown Cabernets, Pinots, and Merlots.
Better yet, Michigan doesn't levy state income tax on distributions from qualified employer and individual retirement plans.
