"Live Life... Scrap It...
March 2008
Before digital was in I was always taking photos of just about everything and then of course getting them developed.  I have stacks and stacks of them and this last month I have been sorting through these photos, trying to figure out whether to scrap them, store them or album them.  Many of them seemed to be of kids, holidays, animals and for some strange reason I seem to have an abundance of zoo photos. Added to my collection of digital zoo photos, I thought it might be about time to scrap some.   I ended up selecting the digital as they were better quality.  So the old ones will have to wait for another day.

My problem was I didn't have any zoo scrapbooking stock so I did some searching and found a store that has a cute zoo range. This company "Tumblebeasts"  stocked zoo papers, stickers, titles, tags and diecuts.

Well I purchased some zoo stock and have now have added some zoo animals brads.   So if you have any zoo photos waiting to be scrapped, well now might be a good time start.

Some Zoo Layout Tips
Zoo layouts can be quite simple with just a few photos with some journallng or the more elaborate style with all the added extras.  Here are a few ideas for scrapping those zoo photos.
  • With a lot of good photographs create a collage of the animals you visited at the zoo.
  • Include memorabilia like a zoo tickets, maps or coupons.
  • Extras for scrapbook pages include animal brads, die cuts, laser cuts and stickers. Consider if any of these would enhance your page design.
  • Use colors in your layout that coordinates with the feel and message of your zoo layout.
  • Take a notebook with you when you do go to the zoo and take notes of funny incidents that occur.
  • Label the names of the animals.
I have put together a zoo pack specifically for the subscribers of the Scrap of Your Life Newsletter.  To create my "Singapore Zoo layout I used most of these products.   All the other products are available in store now.

Note: Our original Singapore zoo map was scanned and converted to black and white and then printed on acid free paper.  Under "Jungle Fever" is a smaller map of Singapore.
