8 club teams in San Diego, Las Vegas College Showcases
On behalf of the Board of Directors and coaching staff I'd like to wish everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving week.
For 8 Diablo FC teams there will be a big Thanksgiving dinner but no Black Friday shopping as they will be taking part in major college showcase tournaments.
The U16 and U17 Diablo FC 95 and 94 girls will be on the Pacific Coast in Carlsbad near San Diego for the November Nights Girls College Showcase Nov. 25-27.
On those same three days the U13 through U18 Diablo FC boys gold teams will be at the Las Vegas Thanksgiving Classic through the Western College Development Association where all those boys teams take part in league play as well as showcase tournaments.
Our players on the 8 teams will be playing in front of hundreds of college coaches over the Thanksgiving weekend gaining priceless exposure.
Please take part in our Diablo FC coaches survey
Your Club seeks input for 2011 coach evaluations from team families
Below is the link which will allow the families of players on 2011-2012 Diablo FC teams to provide us your confidential feedback on their experiences and their team coach through the end of fall season. We would greatly appreciate you taking a couple minutes to answer the questions as well as provide any comments you have about your child's team during 2011. If you have more than one child playing in the club we would appreciate you completing a separate survey for each team they are on.
If you would like to speak to Director of Coaching Brian Voltattorni please so indicate on the survey and he will respond to you. The coaches will be a summary of survey results for their team but will not be aware of individual family comments nor will they know which families responded.
This is a very important tool for the club to evaluate our coaches and programs so please take a few minutes to complete. Thank you in advance for your participation.
Calen Carr shoots for MLS Cup this Sunday vs. LA Galaxy

Diablo FC Logo Enjoy the Raiders and 49ers games on TV Sunday as a buildup to the day's biggest game--the 2011 MLS Cup between the Houston Dynamo

with our own Calen Carr and the Los Angeles Galaxy. The match will be on ESPN starting at 6 o'clock Sunday evening.

Diablo FC alumnus Calen Carr scored the winning goal for his new team the Dynamo earlier in the playoffs against Philadelphia Union and hopes to get his hands on the MLS Cup for the first time. His former Diablo FC teammate (DVSC Renegades) Chris Wondolowski won two MLS Cups with the Dynamo in 2006 and 2007.

Carr and his Dynamo teammates face the big favorites and home-standing Galaxy which featured an international star-studded lineup including David Beckham, Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane. The goalkeeper for the Galaxy is Josh Saunders, one of many pupils of Diablo FC goalkeeper coach Henry Foulk, who tutored Saunders at Cal.

Chris Wondolowski joins Beckham, Donovan on MLS Best XI
Diablo FC Logo San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski was named to the MLS Best XI for a second consecutive year, becoming the first player in club history to receive the honor in back-to-back seasons. Wondo and his younger brother Stephen both played for Diablo FC.

This latest honor capped a year when the Danville native and De La Salle High School grad got his first call-up to the United States National Men's National team and started a friendly against Chile in January (pictured above) and later in the year played against both World Cup Champion Spain and Manchester United. Joining Wondo on the MLS Best XI are Kasey Keller, Thierry Henry, David Beckham and Landon Donovan.

Club players, coaches lead St. Mary's into NCAA Tournament

Diablo FC Logo For the first time in school history the St. Mary's College men's soccer team can call itself West Coast Conference league champions. The Gaels won their NCAA Tournament opener Thursday 1-0 at Cal State Bakersfield and play at UC Irvine Sunday evening. Diablo FC was represented by 3 starters in the NCAA game for the Gaels.

Diablo FC alumnus Jose Cabeza (left), who helped his Diablo FC 90 team to the 2008 USYSA National Championship Final Four, scored the game's only goal as the Gaels edged University of San Diego 1-0 last Sunday to clinch the WCC crown by a single point over Santa Clara. The Gaels and their sixth-year head coach Adam Cooper, a Diablo FC coaching director who was named WCC Coach of the Year this week, also reached the NCAA tourney in 2009.

Diablo FC LogoWeather line for Diablo FC: (925) 779-210
To check up on field conditions we have a 24-hour hotline dedicated solely to Diablo FC. Please call (925) 779-2102 for updates on field conditions. The city of Concord operates its own weather line but our club uses school sites and Boatwright Sports Complex which aren't covered on the city line.
You can also look on the club website on the righthand side for Field Conditions to see if the fields are open (Green Light), closed (Red Light) or something in between (Yellow Light). We have the Yellow symbol because there are times some fields are open and some are closed for a variety of reasons including due to wet conditions, fields being "rested" from play or because maintenance is being performed. If the Yellow Light is showing we suggest you then call the weather line to get the specifics.
