U9-U14 Tryouts for 2010 in Concord Feb. 13-14, 20-21 Player tryouts for Diablo FC Under 9 through Under 14 teams for the 2010-2011 season will be held Jan. 13-14 and 20-21 in Concord on all-weather fields at Clayton Valley and Ygnacio Valley high schools. There is no charge to try out and tryouts will be held rain or shine.

Every girl and boy interested in trying out, including current Diablo FC players, must pre-register online.
U15-U19 tryouts will be held in April.
Free February skills clinics to prepare for tryouts
To help prepare players for Diablo FC tryouts the professional coaching staff will be on hand for FREE SKILLS CLINICS for all interested boys and girls 7-13 years of age on Mondays, Feb. 1 and 8, and Thursdays, Feb. 4 and 11 at Willow Pass Park. Girls' sessions will be from 6-7:15 p.m. and the boys from 7:15-8:30 p.m. Players not currently on a Diablo FC team or in Soccer Academy need to register for the clinics. |
Crab Feed tickets on sale now for Feb. 12 dinner
Contact your team Crab Feed rep or Gina Paff to get tickets now for the 7th annual Diablo FC Crab Feed on Friday, Feb. 12, at Centre Concord. A delicious crab dinner, live and silent auction and a raffle are all on tap for this outstanding event that is not only lots of fun but also is one of two major fund-raising events put on by the club each year, raising money for the Diablo FC scholarship program which helps families in need of assistance for their children to take part in Diablo FC. Social hour is at 6 p.m. and dinner is served at 7 o'clock.

2 teams advance to Association Cup Sweet 16; State Cup delayed
Congratulations to the players and coaches on Diablo FC 96 Fury and Diablo FC 95 Crossfire for advancing to the Sweet 16 round of CYSA Association Cup. The teams were eliminated at the round of 16 but culminated their seasons, which included strong performances in the Al Caffodio fall league, with excellent Cup results, of which they should be proud.
CYSA State Cup for U13 Division 1 teams has been postponed to next weekend Jan. 30-31 due to wet conditions. The club has two teams each in U13 boys and girls divisions.
Association Cup and State Cup for older age groups begin in March or April (see calendar dates below). |

New weather line for Diablo FC: (925) 779-2102 To check up on field conditions we have setup a 24-hour hotline dedicated solely to Diablo FC. Please now call (925) 779-2102 for updates on field conditions. The city of Concord operates its own weather line but our club also uses school sites and Boatwright Sports Complex which aren't covered on the city line. We recommend you only call this new number, which will be updated as needed for all field closures and openings as they relate to Diablo FC training, games, tournaments and tryouts.

Winter Soccer Academy continues
 Boys and girls 5-12 years of age are still able to sign up to participate in the 9th Diablo FC Winter Soccer Academy every Monday and Thursday through Feb. 18 at Willow Pass Park in Concord. Sessions are held from 5-6 p.m.
Diablo FC players and their siblings can register for just $50. The fee includes a Soccer Academy T-shirt plus a Diablo FC pin and window sticker. This is a wonderful opportunity for players of all levels to improve their basic soccer skills. Players preparing to try out for the Diablo FC 2010 season will especially benefit from the Academy, which runs right through club tryouts Feb. 13-14 and 20-21.
