Greetings!
It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!
~Mark Twain
In
the spirit of spring, it's time for some spring cleaning! We've
cleaned up the alumni website and we are pleased to announce the new
look for Alumni Relations! You can read more about the changes below
and check out our new website at www.vjc.edu/alumni.
We are also
looking at cleaning up our online community. With so many alumni on
Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, etc., we're trying to learn more about
what you want! We've put
together an online usage survey for you to tell us what you're using,
and what you would like to see us using in the future. Fill out the
survey for an opportunity to help us move forward with our alumni
communications.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Maryland, My Maryland
The Spring Celebration was a wonderful success! The event, which commemorated the 60th Anniversary, raised more than $18,000 to benefit the students of Villa Julie College. Guests enjoyed an evening of live music by the band Full Circle as they dined on an exquisitely prepared menu. Both the live and silent auction proved to be exciting throughout the night! The evening ended with a little dancing and tambourine playing! It was certainly a night to remember. |
A New Look for Alumni Relations
The Villa Julie alumni page has a new look! Many thanks goes to the Communications Committee of the Alumni Association Board. Their dedication to the College has resulted in an amazing new look that is eye catching and informative. You can update your contact information (and get free stuff), learn more about the Alumni Association Board, nominate a friend for an alumni award, make a gift, check out upcoming events, and so much more! Please send any comments or suggestions to Nina at dev-nina@mail.vjc.edu. Go to www.vjc.edu/alumni to find out more!

Online Usage Survey
The Alumni Association Board in cooperation with Villa Julie's Alumni Relations is hoping to learn how best to serve you through the Alumni webpage. We are hoping to create a way to communicate that is convenient, functional and accessible for all of our alumni in order to increase contact with the entire VJC community. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Turtle Moon by Alice
Hoffman
Turtle Moon is the
perfect escape book. Alice Hoffman's magical tale blends love and suspense in
the steamy heat of Verity, Florida. Treat yourself to a beach read, even on a
chilly gray day. -Recommendation by Ginny Polley, VJC Librarian |
Wellness Corner
Did you know a tiny electronic device can help increase your
energy, decrease your stress, and increase your weight loss? Research has shown using a pedometer and
setting a specific step goal will increase your level of physical activity. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention
recommends 10,000 steps per day. That's
nearly 5 miles! So put on your walking
shoes and start counting!
