 Dear Friends,
It's a joy to visit with you again after several months. During the first half of this year, the Lord has greatly blessed me as I've participated in women's events and a glorious cantata during Easter weekend.
Last March, my mother, June Melvin was honored in Washington, DC by C3; the Colorectal Cancer Coalition for exemplary work in volunteerism. My husband Jan and I accompanied her on this fabulous once-in-a-lifetime trip. Together, with other C3 Advocates, we worked as proponents for four bills now in Congress relating to cancer research and provisions for making colonoscopies affordable and available for all Americans.
I will never forget the deep sense of pride and emotion as we entered the rotunda of our Nation's Capitol. It was a dream come true for my mom, who according to the doctors, wasn't supposed to survive her emergency surgeries three years ago. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy but I praise God that she has quality of life and is an incredible role model for other seniors facing this terrible disease.

We don't know the exact number of our days here on earth but we do know the One who is teaching us and giving us a heart of wisdom as we journey towards heaven.

righteousness
and clothing ourselves in His holiness.

- HR 1738 The Colorectal Prevention, Early Detection and Treatment Act
- HR 1926 The Colon Cancer Screen for Life Act
- S. 1164 The Colon Cancer Screen for Life Act
- HR 3060 The Colorectal Cancer Screening and Detection Coverage Act
If passed, the cost for colonoscopies will be reduced for the underinsured and made available for the uninsured.. Cancer research would receive a funding boost.
