Orphans in the News
Greetings!
I shouldn't be surprised that the plight of orphans is constantly in the news. What bothers me is the fact that news coverage of orphans is rarely positive. Many have heard about the woman in Tennessee who sent her adopted son back to Russia. Numerous celebrities have adopted children from other countries these past several years ... not always without controversy. While it is true, life inside of many of the government-run orphanages is seldom ideal. The orphanages sponsored through Orphan World Relief are unique in that they provide a high-level of care not found elsewhere. Our goal is to help them sustain quality care and improve the lives of the children in their care. Today, many people are concerned that the money they give internationally (or even locally) is being misused by people who care more about their wallets. At Orphan World Relief, we know the orphanages we support and the people who run them. They are as committed to making a difference in the lives of orphans as we are. But we need your help. Since January 1, we've raised $2,000. Our first quarter goal was $10,000... but the year is not yet finished. Click Here to help us make a difference. |
