Greetings!

The Fall season is a time of transitions with Back-To-School, End of Summer, and the Holidays not as far away as you think! It's time to clear out and make room for all the good things to come.

Begin by purging your closet.  Anything you haven't worn this season can be donated. The same goes in the kid's rooms.  Whatever has not been played with or worn in the last year can be donated to someone who would love to have that toy or item of clothing. And the more you clear out and donate now the more you can write off as a charitable donation come tax time. It's a win/win/win. Use my favorite tool itsdeductibleonline.com, this is an online donation tracker that is amazing!

If you are cleaning out your shed, basement or garage there is a place for all those old electronics and chemicals. Check your county or township Web site for a list of where and how to dispose of those items.

  • Recently, I had the pleasure of speaking about Organizing to the amazing women who work and live at Home of the Sparrow. What an amazingly warm, nurturing environment. I am also doing pro bono work for this group helping the women as they transition into their own homes. I look forward to that!

Recent and Ongoing Projects

Moving to Boston- My assistant and I have been working with a couple that are moving and want to declutter their house and elimainte all the things that have accumulated in their house over the last 23 years! What fun! Let's see how quickly they can sell their home now and at what great price! We are working on this project with Jo Greenwalt and her great team at Impact Thrift!

Project Management- This summer while one of my clients was away for 5 weeks, I supervised the project of updating her daughter's bedroom. It is beautiful now. How great is it to make a 15 year-old girl smile!

Post Divorce Breakthrough - A client who was divorced a few years ago was looking to make some changes in her life so that she could move forward and create the new life that was waiting for her. We workied in the office creating a beautiful filing system (now the paperwork is easily located). The divorce paperwork is now in the basement! The last part of the office project involved emptying boxes of books. Once we started this it became apparent that we needed to go through a closet of books and include them in what we were doing. We sorted, then purged- which was difficult since the books reflected her past life. She actually was very stresses about this. I promised to hold onto the books over the weekend, before I donated them. She never called, this act however made her feel freer and has helped her look ahead. She has made some great plans for the winter and it looks like she is off to create the new life that she deserves!

Clutter Project - Removing clutter never sounds particularly dramatic, but the cumulative effect of living over-cluttered for years is suffocating, and the person is often only half aware of the full effect, because she is accustomed to it. This client now has a new-found freedom, as well as a renewed sense of control over her life.

A beautiful fall to you all,
