 Greetings!
May is Moving Month - many people with families move over the summer, and now is the time to get ready. Moving is a nightmare for most of us, but planning, scheduling and good resources keep stress to a minimum. I'm also just back from the NAPO conference, full of new tips and resources for making life easier - read on!
This month's Success Story is about a well-planned move that helped not just the couple who was moving, but their whole family as well.

May Tip - Instead of getting frustrated by a disorganized family member, confine the mess. Give them one room to "decorate" any way they want, and designate the rest of the house clutter-free. This tool has worked well to create better family harmony.

I'm back! The NAPO conference was incredible! Workshops and lectures on everything from managing email ("Detox Your Inbox") to best ways to use organizing software to helping my clients go green, unpacking houses in 3 days and tons more great sessions. Equally amazing are all the new products and services that keep coming out, a mini-scanner for receipts, business cards and documents that fits in a briefcase, storage for single boxes via Fed-Ex, a pre-made list co. with lists in over 400 different categories (groceries, to-do's, weddings, student aids - you name it!), all kinds of new storage and organizing devices - my tool kit is a lot bigger than it was a few weeks ago.

May Tip #2 - Your mother was wrong! You can throw your clothes under the bed. - into flat plastic bins that will store OUT OF SEASON clothes dust-free without taking up closet space.

May Success Story
"Helen" and "Frank" were about to realize their dream of retiring to their shore house. But before long they were at their wits' end trying to sort out where everything was going to go (the shore house being already furnished), and sell the house in the meantime, in this market.
The solution to being overwhelmed is a plan, we were able to break down their move into manageable pieces. #1 was de-clutter and pack, labeling and stacking boxes in the garage. This made the house ready to show at all times, right through the sale, and enabled us to get to Step #2, dividing more valuable possessions between themselves, their children, and charities.
