What are We Doing at DUMAC?
 
In February, Shari and Patrick went to the Digital Dining Conference in Austin, Tx.
Well the weather was ok, (a heatwave for us, but averaged 55 degrees while we were there, but who was outside, we were checking out the NEW STUFF).
 
What did we see?
 
Digital Dining's New Version 7.4 is here!
There are some REALLY new and interesting things happening in the Newest Release of Digital Dining.
 
  • All New Look - High Resolution Graphics  - Instead of creating button pictures, you can go to the World Wide Web and pick out a picture for a food item or beer or liquor and apply it to a button without any headaches.
  • Menu Coursing - People have asked for Coursing, so ... each menu item can be added to a default course, but can be changed on the fly at the terminal.
  • More Menu Items in Each Window - Windows now hold 32 menu items rather than 24.
  • On Screen Check Building for the Bar screens - Bar screens can show 48 buttons plus the check being built on the screen.  
  • Business Intelligence has arrived!! Cell Phone Manager Alerts - Want Manager Alerts sent in real time to your cell phone? Example: voids, discounts, table wait times, you name it! 
  • Frequent Diner Self Serve Kiosk - Want your customers to be able to sign up for your Frequent Diner Program? Just hand them a card and point them to a computer in your dining room. They can swipe the card and enter their own information. 
  • Customer Pager Notification - Want to use Long Range Pagers to notify your customer that their table is ready? With Table Management and Reservations, you can automatically page them when the table is ready.
  • Online Reservations - Coming in 7.4.200! - With Table Management and Reservations, you can use the Guest Trail interface to send and receive table reservation information from your website (Web hosting avaiable, just ask us!).
  • Online Ordering - Coming in 7.4.200! - In a college town? Or have your customers requested web ordering?  You will be able to use Guest Trail for Social Media Marketing and Online Ordering direct to your kitchen printer.

Viruses are a costly problem and are not covered by your annual  support agreement so keeping your antivirus software current is a great way to minimize the chances for a virus on your system.
 
  
The current version of AVG is 9.0. All other versions, including AVG Free, should be replaced with version 9.0.

Spring 2010 Digital Dining User Conference

In 2009 we began thinking about what would benefit our customers most.
 
We started offering User Conferences, a 3-6 hour group meeting which reviews topics close to everyone's heart ... how to use Digital Dining to maximize profit and manage your restaurant more efficiently. Based on your over whelming feed back and the success of the conferences, we scheduled more!
 
In April 2009, we covered Handhelds and some new features and functions in 7.3.5...
In November 2009 we offered an "Owners Only Loss Prevention" Bootcamp.
 
Our first topic for 2010 will be to show you
 
Digital Dining 7.4!
 
Look for a follow up email (very soon) announcing the date and venue.
Remember, seats are limited so register early!!

These focus user group conferences are limited to customers with annual software support at NO COST .. we simply request that you register to  participate. If you can't make it, let us know so we can open your seat to another guest.

Remember how...?

Do you remember how to adjust at tip on a credit card or house account check that has been paid out, without reopening the check? 

 
Remember, Change Receipt Details under Reg Options?
 

Choose Change Receipt Details, enter the check number, and hit the Tip button. Enter the correct tip amount and touch Exit. When you check your *CC Report, you will see the corrected tip amount is visible; and you won't have to go through all the work of reopening and closing the check out again.
