First of all, a big, warm "thank you" for all of the positive energy that I have received from everyone regarding my new (expanded) booth space at Trendz! You really know how to make a girl feel good!! The latest "addition" to my new space is a little gift wrap section with gift bags, bows, ribbon, tissue, wrapping paper and some little treat bags. When it comes to giftware, I really want to be your "one stop shop" - so please let me know what you would like to see more of. I really do listen!! I was recently emailing back and forth with a customer, Darlene, about a friend's 50th birthday gift. I LOVE the way that she ended her email to me...
"I will definitely forward your message (Newsletter) and attend your Grand Re-opening. Your areas look great you are my official gift center. Thank you."
No, thank YOU, Darlene - Forwarding my newsletter, coming to my Grand Re-opening, and designating Creations as your OFFICIAL GIFT CENTER!! Wowzie!!
So how about this "Grand Re-opening" event...
It's going to be at Trendz, this Thursday, May 5 from 5ish - 8ish. Trendz will be celebrating Birthday #2 with a little Cinco De Mayo theme goin' on, Christian Taylor Fine Jewelry will be celebrating their Grand Opening (including a diamond give away!) and I will be there to celebrate Creations Grand Re-opening!!! Come on in and take a peek at my newly expanded booth. There will be tons of "gourmet goodie" samples (including - your favorite - frozen "Wine-A-Rita" samples!!) along with "swag bags" (limited number, but you have to "earn" them - ha!) and sign-ups for free give-aways!! Oh ya - and one more thing. How about 15% off EVERYTHING in my Creations booth Thursday night - Yippee Skippee!! If you have been meaning to come by, and just haven't made it yet - this would be a fun night to stop by! Bring your friends, neighbors, mom, sister-in-law, co-workers... Stop in for a quick "hi" and a cocktail, or stay and shop all night! It's gonna be a party - PLEASE COME!!

Shop & Save
We are fast approaching that time of year for graduation parties, Mother's Day gatherings & backyard BBQ's. With this crazy economy, we need all the $ help we can get! When buying and storing drinks, keep these practical tips in mind.
Buy in advance:
Soda stays bubbly for at least a month, beer has a shelf life of 3-6 months and alcohol lasts months, even years. Store all in a cool, dry place like a garage or basement.
Buy in bulk:
You'll save money and always have extra bottles around for last-minute entertaining.
Ask about return policy:
Usually you can take back bottles that haven't been opened or chilled, but rules vary from store to store.
Don't buy liquor in big bottles:
There's something tacky about making guests hoist a 1/2 gallon jug of booze to make a cocktail. Even though it costs a little more, buy liquor in one-liter bottles. They look nicer and are easier to handle. Eventually you can buy big bottles and replenish the small ones for parties. |

Margarita Martini
OK - So here's a little "how-to"video for you to enjoy... In honor of Cinco De Mayo, like a "margarita", but a bit more edgy. It's a Margarita MARTINI (hmmm...) If you are suffering from a little PRWW - "Post Royal Wedding Withdrawal" - you will enjoy listening to their accents. The gal is like the "British Vanna White of Cocktails"... you'll see. Not a bad job, really.
Here are the ingredients:
1 shot fresh lime juice
1 shot Cointreau
2 shots tequila
Salt/lime wedge for glass (optional - I like the way he did 1/2 the glass!)
Mix well in a martini shaker with ice & double strain into chilled martini glass. Speak with a British accent as you sip...

8 oz. cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup Dr. Pete's Praline Mustard Glaze "2008 FLAVOR OF GEORGIA WINNER"
Soften cream cheese and combine ingredients. Serve with sliced apples, crackers, and wafers.

A couple of "warm fuzzies" to share with you this month... :)
- This email was from Kim, whom I have never met. Her email, however, brought tears to my eyes. For those of you who don't know me as well - I am the oldest of 7 kids, and my youngest brother has Down Syndrome. He goes by Michael "the singer", but also LOVES to dance. He will be 26 next month. Love you, Mike!

We Won your wine glasses at the First Downs for Down Syndrome auction. We are actually giving them as a gift to our friend who is the mom of two adopted children with Down Syndrome. Thank you for donating your beautiful set of glasses. We had to fight for them!"
