"A Touch of Glass"

February 2010

Greetings!
A group of students were asked to list what they thought were the seven wonders of the world. The majority of the students picked Egypt's Great Pyramids, Taj Mahal, Grand Canyon, Panama Canal, Empire State Building, St. Peter's Basilica, and China's Great Wall.
While counting the votes, the teacher noted that one student hadn't finished her paper yet. She asked the girl if she was having trouble finishing her list, and she replied, "Yes, I couldn't make up my mind because there were so many to pick from." The teacher said, "Tell us what you have so far and maybe we can help." The girl replied, "I think the Seven Wonders of the World are to see, to hear, to touch, to taste, to feel, to laugh, and to love."
I love the simplicity of that thought process. We have so much in our lives to be thankful for (just ask someone in Haiti) and so much love to share with others, especially in this month of February... an entire month devoted to love!!! Try to find a way this month to share your love with different people using each of the "Seven Wonders", and email me with your "results"! I can't wait to hear what you come up with... (Be creative!)
Hugs and love to all of you...
Cheers!

Anette's Wine Truffles
$9.95
From "Anette's Chocolate Factory" in Napa Valley; these truffles are absolutely divine! These are gift packaged as a set of five unique truffles: Winter Cabernet, Summer Cabernet, Chardonnay, Port and Gold Rush.
Our
"Truffle of the Month"
for February is the "Winter Cabernet Truffle" The Winter Cabernet Truffle is the richest and most decadent of the wine truffles. Bittersweet chocolate is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and whipped into a dense chocolate center which is then coated in bittersweet chocolate.
I also want to mention the only "non-wine" truffle included in this delicious gift package... the "Gold Rush" which is a brandy truffle with a beautiful little fleck of gold on top (pictured above) |

"Ahhh; the indulgence of a chocolate martini - served ice cold in an elegant martini glass, bathed in warm copper and chocolate brown... Make mine Godiva!"
For an easy "Martha Stewart" looking dessert, simply take the above "Chocolatini" martini glasses, fill each with a scoop of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, drizzle with any of Brent's decadent chocolate sauces (see column to the right), and stick one of those fancy looking "Pepperidge Farm" cookies into the scoop of ice cream. Depending on the sauce, optional "sprinklings" might include fresh raspberries or other fresh fruits, lightly toasted almonds or pecans, shredded coconut, chocolate shavings, or maraschino cherries. |

Our
"Sauce of the Month"
for February is the
"Chocolate Cabernet
Wine Sauce"
(The following was written by Anette's brother, Brent)
"Did you know our Cabernet Wine Truffles provided the inspiration for our Chocolate Wine Sauces? One day, while making the truffles, I decided to create a dessert topping. One year, and quite a few tastes later, our first chocolate wine sauce was created. Anette and I have a special appreciation for this sauce, because it was our first. Enjoy!"

Open Door Policy
A shopkeeper was dismayed when a brand new business, much like her own, opened up next door and erected a huge sign which read "BEST DEALS".
She was horrified when another competitor opened up on her right and announced it's arrival with an even larger sign, reading "LOWEST PRICES".
The shopkeeper panicked, until she got an idea. She put the biggest sign of all over her own shop. It read: "MAIN ENTRANCE". |

We have all seen the heart-wrenching images on television of the damage and destruction in Haiti, and it leaves us feeling helpless and overwhelmed with emotion... Many of us are doing what we can as a family, or individuals, to help. For what it's worth, I would like to do my part through Creations to help as well. During the month of February, I am going to donate 10% of my profits (including Trendz sales) to the Red Cross Haitian Relief Fund. If you, or your family, are looking for a way to help, I am listing a couple of contacts (below) that are just a click, and a credit card, away.

In the meantime, may we all keep the Haitian people in our hearts and in our prayers.
