Currently in Louisiana, there is nothing to stop an abortionist from performing an abortion up until the moment right before birth.  Through SB 766, we can stop this a put a large dent in the efforts of the abortion industry which would like to preserve abortion-on-demand.

SB 766, the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, is authored by Senate President John Alario (R-Westwego).  SB 766 protects unborn children 20 weeks old (post-fertilization) based on the scientific evidence showing that the unborn child can feel pain at 20 weeks.  This legislation has been passed in six other states.

Last Wednesday, this legislation passed out of the Senate Health and Welfare Committee.  See the Advocate article here.  The Hear the Heartbeat Act (SB 708) passed a House committee on the same day.
Your call may be the encouragement your Senator needs to vote for life, so please contact your Senator today.   Thank you for your support of life!
