What a Wonderful Evening!

January 15, 2010

Greetings!John Raphael, S.S.J.

Last night was a truly wonderful evening!

From the food, to the speakers, to the award ceremony, and to the great company (just under 400 people!), the 2010 Proudly Pro-Life Dinner will certainly go down as one of the best ever (and don't just take my word for it- ask anyone who was there!)

We are grateful to John Raphael, S.S.J., the principal of St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, for offering an amazing, and what I would call historic, speech on his life as a African-American pro-lifer living under the pro-abortion Obama Administration.
Dorinda Bordlee at Dinner
Fr. Raphael, a Notre Dame graduate who spoke at the pro-life alternative graduation ceremony last May at Notre Dame at the same time President Obama gave the commencement address to the rest of the students, reminded us that "African-Americans need pro-lifers, and pro-lifers need African Americans."   His speech was powerful, and will certainly further the goal to build a stronger bridge between the African-American and pro-life communities in Louisiana.

After Fr. Raphael, Sharon Rodi, one of our many distinguished board members, awarded the 2010 Proudly Pro-Life Award to Dorinda Bordlee.  Dorinda, in her heartfelt and moving remarks, reminded everyone present that, no matter where we are in life, we are all called to be witnesses to life and to never give up.Benjamin Clapper at Dinner

Thank you to everyone who helped orchestrate a wonderful evening, and most of all, thanks to everyone who purchased tickets and attended.  We could not defend life without you!

I have included some photos here on the right, and you can visit our website at this link to see even more photos.  We will be posting more online in the coming days!
