How You Live
Titus 1:15-16 Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted. Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. (NLT)
Living in the United States is good. There is no better place in the world as far as I am concerned. Even those who are poor live better than many others around the world. There are government programs available that allow them to live at a standard far above many working class citizens in other countries.
Notice I said our government programs? This is good in that many are helped, but at the same time bad. It has removed us from the need to help. We just let Uncle Sam take care of them and at the same time complain about the taxes we pay and the bureaucracy necessary for those programs to succeed.
We can get so wrapped up in our self, our family, our friends, and the activities at our church that we miss it. The way we live does not extend out to others in the world in which we live. Sure we help out at the local soup kitchen or put a buck in the bucket when someone is asking for donations outside of that store we went into today.
Jesus tells us about the good Samaritan. Remember the story? Religious leaders and others avoided the hurting man by walking across the street. Isn't that denying Him by the way we live?
God sees where we are in our day to day life. The Holy Spirit might even give us a kick wanting us to step out and speak to that person near us, that neighbor Jesus spoke of. Now I am not talking about looking for people in need. I am talking about recognizing the people God puts in front of us. They are the neighbors whom we are to love as we love ourselves.
Does our life walk speak Jesus to the world, or do we look just like everyone else? Do we deny Him by the way we live?

Stage 4: The Eye of an Eagle
"An old eagle eye." Have you ever heard that saying? When I was young I had 2/30 vision-I was told that was real good. My memire (grandmother) would ask me to thread her sewing needles and sometimes pull out those unwanted chin hairs for her. She told me I had an eagle eye.
An eagle can spot its prey from miles away and be quick reacting so he can catch dinner in no time at all. All eagles are renowned for their excellent eyesight. They have two foveae or centers of focus, that allow the bird to see both forward and to the side at the same time. Bald eagles are capable of seeing fish in the water from several hundred feet above while soaring, gliding, or even in flapping flight. This is quite an extraordinary feat since most fish are counter-shaded, meaning they are darker on top and thus harder to see from above. An eagle's eye sharpness is at least four times that of a person with perfect vision. The eagle can probably identify a rabbit moving almost a mile away. That means that an eagle flying at an altitude of one thousand feet over open country could spot prey over an area of almost three square miles from a fixed position.
It is amazing what you can see when you open your eyes!
Ephesians 1:18-19 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength
Let the eyes of our understanding be opened. When we see Christ in us we realize our true nature and then we may partake in His divine nature!
2 Peter 1:3-4 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
Christ in us the hope of glory will swallow up all that is not of His nature. As we allow Holy Spirit to open the eyes of our hearts we will see what binds us and holds us captive. When those things are exposed the light of Christ will cast them out so we will be able to live free.
It is important that we are not walking around with closed eyes pretending all is well with our souls. Rejoice as the Spirit of truth reveals those hindrances to you. For our Father God loves us enough to quicken our spirit man into His righteousness. As we are made aware of sin the refiners fire will come in to purify so we may be presentable in the Father's sight.
God's reflection will be seen in us by those we are in contact with. It will be our fruit-His nature and character: love, joy, peace, long suffering, goodness, meekness, and self control. They will encounter first hand a sight of the living God through us! Through us they will be drawn to eternal life.
Our eyes, the mirror to our souls, will be like the eagle's that gets its prey!
