Request for Information (RFI): Input into the Scientific Strategic Plan for the Proposed National Institute of Substance Use and Addiction Disorders
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is soliciting input into the Scientific Strategic Plan for the proposed new institute with the working name of the National Institute of Substance Use and Addiction Disorders. This new institute would result from the proposed reorganization of substance use, abuse, and addiction-related research at the NIH.

SPRC Unveils New Web site
The newly redesigned Web site of the Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) - funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration - makes SPRC services more accessible, includes many updates to the previous content, and continues to offer a professionally maintained collection of resources, publications, and information on suicide prevention. SPRC's Web site continues to offer information on suicide prevention basics; the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP)/SPRC Best Practices Registry for Suicide Prevention (BPR); and an extensive library. The tailored resource areas for colleges and universities and for American Indian/Alaska Native suicide prevention are now more centrally located.
New SPRC Publication: A Guide to Campus Mental Health Action Planning
SPRC is pleased to announce that Campus MHAP: A Guide to Campus Mental Health Action Planning, developed by the Jed Foundation and Education Development Center, Inc., is now available online to assist colleges and universities in promoting student mental health and preventing suicide. This new publication is intended to help college and university administrators and staff develop a comprehensive plan to promote the mental health of their campus communities and support students who are struggling emotionally or distressed.
The free guide can be downloaded from the Jed Foundation or the SPRC Web site.
Training Seminar: "The Practical Implementation of Title IX and Clery for Sexual Violence Prevention and Response"
Security On Campus, Inc., and Victim Rights Law Center have joined together to share their expertise on Clery Act and Title IX compliance when responding to sexual violence. This training seminar is open to campus administrators, faculty, first responders, and university counsel. Participants will learn from litigators, victim advocates, and compliance experts on how to avoid liability and maintain a balanced approach to adjudicating sexual assault and rape cases.
