Human Resources Professionals of York Region - Bill 168
Recent amendments to Bill 168 received Royal Assent requiring employers to comply by June 15, 2010. The Act requires employers to develop a program with respect to violence and harassment in the workplace, and other matters. An employer's Company Policy must include measures to control risks of workplace violence and harassment, failure to comply with the new Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations will result in extensive fines and/or imprisonment penalties.
