Bank Declares Recession Over

The Bank of Canada is declaring the recession essentially over in Canada. The central bank says the economy will expand by 1.3 per cent during the summer months after three straight quarters of sharp contraction. The new forecast puts Canada at the front of the line of countries that are coming out of what economists have called the worst global recession since the Second World War. Read More ..... 

Safe Food Handling Certification Course
 
The York Region Community and Health Services Department offers a food handler certification course, called "PROTON".  PROTON, refers to the individual taking positive action towards food safety.  It is a certification course that is valid for five years and recognized by all health departments within Ontario.

The Ontario Ministry of Revenue and the Canada Revenue Agency  have teamed up to present a FREE, joint seminar about PST and federal GST/HST for small to medium-sized businesses.
 
Seminar leaders will:

 - help you understand the similarities and differences between PST & GST/HST
 - clarify your responsibilities for collecting and remitting the two taxes
