louet mohair linen
Spring is coming! Really! It is!
We all need something to look forward too, and what better than the fresh colors and light textures of linen and mohair, both from Louet. Think light and airy spring scarves, camisole tops, market bags...and warmth! And don't forget these knit up beautifully together. A rough rule of thumb is two skeins of linen to one of mohair and we promise a creation that will have you dreaming of spring even when the snow is falling. Come in and see our great new selection of colors!

In  2010, I will learn to crochet
If that's your vow, we're here to help. We're offering two crochet classes this month, one for true beginners and one to teach you how to make granny squares (which, if you haven't noticed are *all* the rage right now). Our crochet instructor Donna Childs is patient, fun, and did we mention patient? So even if crochet has, ahem, never been your thing we know in her capable hands you'll figure it out. And the best part about the granny square class is that you'll learn how to make the squares and some other shapes. So don't wait, these are sure to fill up quickly.

Help us do better -- take our survey
Knitting customers, this one's for you. We've put together an easy 10-question survey aimed at helping us give you more of what you want, from yarns to classes to ideas. We'd love it if you'd take two minutes and take it...and to sweeten the pot a bit, if you do take it, there's a little tangible "thank you" on the last screen. So please, click here and it will take you directly to our survey. We really want to know what you like, and don't.

riverslea yarns
Eating local? Now try knitting local!
From sheep grazing in Epping, New Hampshire come wonderful worsted weight yarns, now in 4 earth tones. This two ply yarn from Riverslea farms is spun from their sheep and the colors, well, the pictures don't do justice to the simple beauty of the natural shades. Knitting with this yarn will leave your hands softer -- there's still some lanolin in the wool -- and will transport you almost instantly to the farm and fresh cut hay. Each hank is 200 yards and costs $13.50...these cry out to be made into sweaters and mittens and hats.
