Greetings!

Happy Almost SPRING!
We  just had a glimpse of  spring this past weekend with temperatures in the 60ties and everybody spent time outside enjoying the sunshine and warmer weather. It was so refreshing to watch people walk, bike, play ball or simply sit on a bench soaking up the good spirit all around!

Perfect time to start thinking about a Spring Cleanse. We live in a world of chemicals, processed food, and concrete jungles. Our bodies have to absorb and process a lot of junk. Spring is the perfect time to give your body a break and to get rid of all the heavy, lethargic winter excess.

Today I am dedicating my newsletter to Spring Cleaning. Personally, I just started drinking warm lemon water first thing in the morning. This is only one of the tools you can use to support your liver in the cleansing process.

Just as a car needs an oil change we too need a tune up once in a while as part of a healthy maintenance plan.

Happy Almost Spring

Heidi

SPRING CLEANSE

Did you ever wonder why we always seem to get that urge to 'spring clean'? Whether it's the garage, basement, closets, or kitchen cupboards, there seems to be some biological impulse pushing us to give everything a good going over once winter passes. But what about your body? Isn't spring a time for it to be cleaned out too?

Chinese medicine has been thinking about this for some 2000 years or more. In classical Chinese medicine each organ in the body is associated with a particular season. The liver, for example, is associated with the spring, a time for clearing out the old and making room for the new. From a metabolic point of view, the liver is the most important cleansing organ in the body. So maybe there is an underlying biological reason that has us thinking about cleaning each spring.

As mother nature renews itself in springtime we should be cleaning our bodies and our minds! So how do you feel right now? Let's check in with ourselves. Do you feel heavy, lethargic, sluggish, unmotivated, etc. When you think about a cleanse, are you excited? Relieved? Ready? Stressed out? Deprived? Nervous?

If you are anxious about a cleanse check in about the reasons? Too much on your plate? Too busy with functions and events? Not willing to give up certain foods?

There are many different cleanses available to you and it can seem overwhelming to figure out which cleanse will work and add to your overall health and wellbeing. Before you decide sit down with a piece of paper and create a Spring Cleanse Action Plan:
  1. You need to identify which cleanse fits you, your lifestyle and your health goals best.
  2. Determine the length of your cleanse - 3 day, 5 day, 10 day, 21 day or anything in between.
  3. Think about ways to enhance your cleansing experience
  4. Be realistic of what to expect during the cleanse and
  5. Think about how to best end your cleanse
Your cleanse needs to be realistic and doable. It may push you beyond your typical comfort zone and that's okay but it should not stress you out and make you feel totally deprived.

Call me at 610 667 5453 or email me  to figure out which cleanse is right for you. I am running a great spring special between now and May 25th to support all of you in your "Spring Tune Up" efforts. See details below.
