First Aid Training Saves a Life at Work
On January 28, 2008, Lee Ann Greening used her first aid skills to save a life. Ms. Greening was just finishing lunch at her place of work when she realized that one of her co-workers, Tammy Greening (unrelated), was choking on some food. She was unable to speak or cough. "I heard her gurgle and asked if she was okay and she just shook her head," says Lee Ann. "Right away, I stood behind her and put my arms around her and administered strong abdominal thrusts. More»

Patient with Brain Injury Responds Well to Therapy Dog Visit
In December 2007, we met Jamie, a 19-year young lady who is recovering from a serious brain injury due to an auto collision. I was told that she loves dogs, so Bonnie and I made sure we visited her every Monday for some therapy dog companionship. Bonnie is a three-year old Labrador/Shepherd cross and she and I have been visiting patients at Seven Oaks Hospital on Monday evenings, since March 2006. More» |
