John Driskell dropped into our office a few weeks ago and gave us a copy of his new book "Everest the Old Way". It's a charming account of how four men and one woman set out from Britain in 1967 to follow the "Hippy Trail" overland to Nepal and trek to Everest Base Camp. They returned in 2010 to trek again from Kathmandu to Kala Pattar to find a changed world. Moroccan Trek under the Microscope
Every month we use Garmin GPS technology to present an in depth view of our adventure holidays and for June the spotlight is on our popular Peaks and Valleys of Jebel Sirwa trip. Lying between the High Atlas and the Anti-Atlas the extinct volcano of Jebel Sirwa is the high point of a rarely visited mountainous area that boasts some of the finest trekking in Morocco. Home to the Ait Ouaouzguit Berbers, famed for their hand-woven rugs, this area is poorly mapped but now you can check out the distance of each day's trek, with elevation profiles and even export the track to view it in astounding detail on Google Earth.

Fundraising in aid of MS
Coordinated by KE Sales Team member, Yvonne Booth, the second annual 10 in 10 Challenge in aid of MS will take place on Saturday 23 June around the Newlands Valley close to Keswick. All funds will go towards research into finding a cure for MS, the most common neurological condition affecting young adults.
