Greetings!

Are you ready to grow?

I grew up planting things. I know what it's like to feel the sandy loam beneath my bare feet; to stand in a fresh plowed field with my dad and my grandfather and release seeds from my hand into the nutrient filled earth. I've experienced the excitement of coming back in just a few days to see the crusted ground breaking open and releasing the debut of the new season's masterpiece. To return again in a few weeks and gather the harvest does something to the inside of a boy.

What we plant and what we harvest continues to change through the entirety of our lives but the growth process is essentially the same. Genesis 1:12 describes a fruit-bearing tree whose "seed is in itself".

Each completion deposits the seeds of a new creation. This is what growing is all about. Each cycle of maturation carries with it the seeds for the next level. Success is not a place but a process of discipline, learning and growing. Each season's harvest is predicated on the seeds preserved and planted from the previous one.

Make sure you plant during this season. It's never fun to watch others rejoice during their harvest when you know you never planted anything. You might say, "Well, I didn't save any seeds from last season". There is good news - you can borrow seed!

Start planting the generic seed of The Word of God and watch it grow into the crop you need. Just remember the "seed is in itself" so keep planting it over and over in other places and in others' lives.
