So, what is your next move?
Man with ideasSometimes, the best time to innovate is when it is forced upon us. In an ideal world, we would push ourselves to keep learning and growing in the midst of success and rising numbers. But that is simply not the way it is for most people. Most of us mere mortals tend to enjoy success so much that we don't want to change a thing while we are experiencing it. Then suddenly, some element or change puts success out of our reach, and a little alarm (sometimes a big alarm) goes off, telling us it is time to decide our next move.

Decide your next move..... in the shower?

Have you ever noticed that some of your best ideas and realizations happen while you are in the shower or taking a bath? Or on a walk, during a workout or in the middle of the night? That should give you a clue about how your brain prefers to work-as in not in a continuously stressed mode. Your brain needs time for reflection, and this task cannot be accomplished while your body is stressed, worried, multi-tasking or in a constant state of effort. Being hard-working and productive are two of the most valued qualities in our culture, and that is great. But innovation and ideas are valued too-and highly rewarded. So, incorporate some solo walks, quiet time, workouts, meditations and long showers into your routine this month, and see what happens.

"You must know that in any moment a decision you make can change the course of your life forever: the very next person you stand behind in line or sit next to on an airplane, the very next phone call you make or receive, the very next movie you see or book you read or page you turn could be the one single thing that causes the floodgates to open, and all of the things that you've been waiting for fall into place."
