January 2008

Who is calling the shots in 2009?
What did you say?If you are wondering what to do to make sure 2009 is a banner sales year, you might want to first check-in to see which part of yourself is calling all of the plays-the bigger, creative part of yourself, or the smaller, survival-oriented part.

You may have heard that listening to your inner voice or intuition is a good idea, and that is absolutely true. But first-find out which voice you are hearing in there. The smaller part of all of us spends a lot of time being fearful, in contraction and imagining the worst-case scenarios. Listening to this voice can mean life over death if you are stranded in a crevasse for nine days with no food-but it is a fairly poor choice when it comes to sales and success.

The bigger part of us tells us to take calculated risks, try something new, keep trying, be creative, solve problems, etc. In a skimpy economy the smaller part of us will say, "That prospect is never going to buy...I have already answered all of their questions. I am wasting my time here. What a rip-off!" But the bigger part of us will say, "I am working harder than ever to hang onto every prospect I have. If they need more information I will find it for them. As a matter of fact, I was just thinking about their main problem and I may have a solution for them."

If there was ever a time to take some risks, get creative and "over-service" every prospect that comes in your path-that time is now!
