It is the time of year for making lists. As you make your holiday gift lists, party lists, client lists and shopping lists, take a few minutes to make a list of the few things that you may be tempted to give up trying to accomplish.
When it comes to learning a new language, getting fit or achieving your sales goal, the time to give up is NEVER. Sure it may seem daunting and overwhelming and you may have tried everything. But the trick is to acknowledge those elements and to simply continue or begin again in spite of them. Think of some of the times in your life and career that the one call, one e-mail or one conversation led to a life-changing success. Now imagine if you had not made that one call, made an appearance at that particular event or made the time to respond to your e-mails. You never know when you might be just one action away from the mother lode, and the pleasure that comes from hard-won success could be right around the corner.
"Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all." Dale Carnegie |
