Dump your sales slump! "Unhappiness is not knowing what we want and killing ourselves to get it!" Unknown author
Here are a few simple steps to help you dump your slump. Step One: Of course the most important step when making a change is to acknowledge that you are not where you want to be. The cause of your slump may be complicated, but the cure doesn't have to be—once you admit that you are in one. Step Two: Assess the damage. How bad are your numbers? Have you been sick a lot too? Physical slumps often come along with Performance slumps. What about sleep? Don't waste time telling yourself you shouldn't be feeling this way or asking who is at fault. Instead, take stock of where you are and leave the judgment out of it. Correct Your Course With honest examination you can determine if you have gotten too far away from the basics or if you have been on auto-pilot and need a fresh approach to your tasks. Once you know the answer, take corrective action immediately. Also, there is a good chance your slump is accompanied by some over-commitment in your life. Over-commitment dilutes your effectiveness in nearly all life categories. Now is a great time to practice saying "NO!" until you get back on track. Maybe that obligatory trip home for a visit could be postponed and replaced with something truly replenishing to you. This is a great time to practice taking back your energy and focusing on changing your result.
