Greetings ,
Roger has been out of the office over the past few weeks working on some of the important issues surrounding court reporters and the integrity of the judicial record, but he asked me to fill you in on what's been going on.
As King County goes, so goes the rest of the state. In this economic climate, everyone is looking for places to cut corners. King county is looking at laying off court reporters as a move to help to make ends meet. The court reporters from King County have created this video that explains the situation and some of the possible problems with trying to replace live court reporters with recording devices.
