USASA Concludes Successful Midyear Meeting & Soccer Summit

Soccer SummitA weekend filled with hope, emotions and recognition - all for the love of the game, took place at the USASA Fifteenth Annual Midyear Meeting in Mesa, Arizona, on October 8-11.

A welcome reception on Thursday night kicked off the event with a casual gathering of USASA members from across the United States. Brooks McCormick, USASA President, welcomed and thanked everyone for being part of this year's meeting and also introduced a slideshow of the 2008-2009 season. People mingled, laughed, talked, and had a perfect-weather evening.
 
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, USASA's Vision & Strategy Soccer Summit was held and hosted by Hank Steinbrecher & Kevan Pipe of Sporting Strategies International Inc.;  Tom O'Shea, Summit Task Force Chairman and Mark Haas, Research & Organization Management Inc President. Record Number of Teams Played in 2009 Coed Cup
 
Coed TrophyThe best of adult coed soccer in the U.S. was present at the 2009 USASA Coed Cup Nationals for a soccer fun filled weekend in Dallas/Plano, Texas. The annual championship, being held at Russell Creek Park, welcomed thirty-three teams in 4 divisions, Open 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Over 30. Participating teams came from numerous USASA state associations across the country to play three matches (round robin), with the most-point teams advancing to semifinals and finals.
 "This year's tournament was a success because teams were happy with the level of play" said Jeanne Smith, Coed Cup Co-Chair. "We also had the most entries ever and hope to keep growing for the next tournament and the next."

Online RegistrationThe United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) is the premier national soccer organization dedicated to participation in, enjoyment of and growth of adult soccer across America.  We are recognized for providing leadership and valued programs, resources and services to support our member organizations, making "Soccer - your game for life."
 
The USASA has identified requirements for online registration, and is seeking a highly qualified vendor to provide a flexible, scalable, robust and sustainable solution to address the needs of the USASA and its member organizations.
 
If your company develops an online registration product and you are interested in submitting a bid, please look over the RFQ linked below and take note of the timeline on Page 4 of the RFQ.  The first deadline is two weeks from today (November 13) and by that time, all questions pertaining to the RFQ must be submitted to either Stephanie Walker (swalker@usasa.com) or Steve Addington (saddington@usasa.com).

Your Team Can Be the 2010 Recharge Team of the Year!

Angela AustinNominations are now being accepted for the Recharge Team of the Year. Each month, new nominations, along with those carried over from previous months, will be reviewed to determine a monthly winner. The winner team will obtain the title of "Recharge Team of the Month" and will be acknowledged and rewarded for their efforts. The 12 winning teams will then be judged against one another and the chosen team will be crowned "Recharge Team of the Year." The program rewards teams for their community work off the field. Austin Wildcats of Texas State Soccer Association-South were recognized for its charity efforts off the field at the Awards Luncheon back in October during the USASA Midyear Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. Austin Wildcats' Manager, Angela Molock received the Award from USASA President Brooks McCormick.  They are the first team to be named Recharge Team of the Year. New England Soccer Hall of Fame Celebrated its 32nd Annual Induction Ceremony

It was a very emotional, proud and eventful day for the new England Soccer Hall of Fame Inductees, their families and friends. It was also a trip down memory lane for all of the 120 guests that attended the Ceremonies. Old friendships were renewed and new ones made. Carlos Carlos, Denis Chartier, Ed Kelly, Michael Strickland, Richard Frongillo and Hank Steinbrecher were formally inducted in a Ceremony that everyone present will always remember.
USASA Chairman Mr. Brooks McCormick served as the guest speaker. He was very eloquent on his speech and had high praise for, Read More.
