Coach's Corner by Aleks Mihailovic

Lessons From the Best Coach in the World

Throughout my playing and coaching career, I have been fortunate to learn from and be exposed to some of the extraordinary coaches in the game:  Sep Herberger, Bora Militinovic, just to name a few.
However, the greatest teacher of the game is still the game itself.

US Soccer's AGM Recap

Brooks McCormickBy Brooks McCormick, USASA Chairman.

This year's US Soccer's AGM was relatively uneventful compared to some past years.  The staff of US Soccer put on a quality event and the Florida weather certainly cooperated. I think the most excitement in the Council meeting was the confusion over the number of players registered by US Club Soccer; hopefully they will be reconciled in the near future.  Also a bit controversial was the change in requirements for life membership with US Soccer.  Unfortunately this resulted in two current nominees being asked to withdraw this year with the ability to reapply under the new standards.

From the USASA side we had our first official meeting of the Adult Commissioners to begin organizing the Adult Commissioners and Adult Council to be more active and proactive within the responsibilities laid out in the US Soccer By-laws.  Minutes of that meeting should be forth coming as soon as they are approved.

This was the first year we used a court reporter for the minutes of the Adult Council meeting and the USASA Council meeting.  Those have already been distributed to the membership.

The most noteworthy action taken by the USASA Council was to direct the Executive Committee to plan, fund and hold a USASA Adult Soccer Summit.  The Task Force has been appointed and is hard at work carrying out this directive, Read More.
