O RAt the Midyear Meeting in San Antonio, Demosphere and USASA held two workshops geared towards Online Registration.
 
The first session was focused on the National Registration System that's been in place since 2006. Currently, there are over 80,000 registered players in the system with 25+ associations represented in some capacity.  The session gave an overview of the state and league level functions that are available via the USASA website. 
 
The second session focused on an add-on to the system geared towards leagues. The add-on allows leagues to register players, Read More.
 
14th Annual Midyear Meeting Comes to a Close

MYM Welcome ReceptionThe 2008 Midyear Meeting and Workshops, held in San Antonio, TX, was a great success. The four-day event kicked off Thursday, October 9 with an evening soiree to welcome US Adult Soccer administrators, coaches, referees and Hall of Fame members. 
 
While the rest of the weekend was devoted to soccer businesses, the USASA celebrated its third annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, Class of 2008. 

"It's an honor to be here tonight at the USASA Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony. In this country, people are continuously working on adult soccer for the good of the game" said Master Of Ceremonies Hank Steinbrecher, former Secretary General of the U.S. Soccer Federation.

Coed Cup Wraps Up Successful Tournament
 
Coed CupOn the weekend of October 24th, the US Adult Soccer Association proved that co-ed soccer in the United States is vastly growing. The association offers a national tournament for all the affiliated co-ed leagues that want to play just for fun. 
 
Although the competition was on a two-year hiatus, the 2008 Coed Cup came back much stronger. The championship was held on October 24-26 at the Russell Creek Park in Dallas, TX, and it was jointly hosted by the North Texas State Soccer Association and the USASA.

"It's good to be back!" said Jim Sadowski, Coed Cup Chair. 
 
This year's event featured teams from New Mexico, North and South Texas, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Washington State. A total of 22 teams filled up the brackets in Premier, First, Second and Over 30 divisions.

    It was definitely a hot month for USASA events. Also in October, the Coed Cup kicked off big in Dallas. If you did not have the privilege to participate or enjoy a weekend filled with co-ed soccer, it's okay. Because we know traveling to the Longhorn State twice in a month can be strenuous, we bring you the USASA Coed Cup Photo Albums; action shots, participating teams, referees, to name a few. USASA Accepting Nominations for Recharge Team of the Year
 
USASA would like to announce its newest program, the Recharge Team of the Year Award.  The Recharge Team of the Year Award rewards teams for their outstanding service off the field through volunteer work, service projects, fundraisers and for promoting the game of soccer throughout their community. 
 
USASA's national office is now accepting nominations for the Team of the Year program which runs from August 1 - July 31 (November 1 - July 31 for the first year).  A monthly winner will be selected from all nominations and the monthly winners will then compete with one another for the annual award.  Monthly and annual winners will also be featured on USASA, Major League Soccer and Women's Professional Soccer's web sites.  You may visit the Recharge Team of the Year page on USASA's web site to fill out or download the nomination form as well as gather more details on the program and prizes. USASA Partners with NSCAA
 
NSCAA LogoThe United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) entered into a multi-year agreement with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), the largest coaches' organization in the United States.

The USASA-NSCAA partnership is based upon a promotional and marketing agreement. Among the benefits, USASA is entitled to a booth at the NSCAA Annual Convention, the nation's largest soccer-specific trade show. With approximately 300 companies on hand, attendees can examine the latest soccer-related technology and equipment.

"Undoubtedly, the USASA is looking forward to reaching out to current members as well as attracting new members and what better place than one of the most renowned soccer conventions" said Stephanie Walker, National Administrator for USASA.

Veteran's Cup Committee Looking for Contacts for 2009
 
The United States Adult Soccer Association will hold the 2009 Veteran's Cup on July 7-12 in Lancaster, Massachusetts. Play is offered for women's and men's teams from Over-30 to Over-60. Each team that enters the event is guaranteed three 90-minute matches.  In each division prize money of $750 is given for first place winners and $250 for second place finishers.

The Veteran's Cup Committee is looking for email addresses for teams and players to keep them informed on activities leading up to the 2009 event. Anyone interested can contact, Read More.
