Two of the most important questions that any coach should ask of him or herself are 1) Does this training have a positive effect on the players? 2) Does training transfer to the game? For answers,

Coed Cup Set to Kick Off in Dallas

DFW TornadosUSASA's Coed Cup is fast approaching! This year's event features teams from New Mexico, North and South Texas, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Washington State, and will be played October 24-26 at the Russell Creek Park in Dallas, TX. Click here for more information.

This Week's Featured Team is:
  DFW Tornados  (picture above)

Team manager:  Blake Abbott
Affiliated League: North Texas Coed Soccer Association
State Association: North Texas State Soccer Association

In the Team's Own Words:

[Coed Committee:  How long has the Team been playing together?]

B.A.:  "We have been playing together in some form for 5 or 6 years.  We started out as a team in a church league and we have kind of migrated from there."

[Coed Committee:  What is the Team's best moment?  And worst moment?]

B.A.:  "We won the Coors Light Cup two years in a row and that is probably our best two moments.  Our worst moment seems to be the last game of most of our regular seasons.
They always seem to get rescheduled two or three times so that we end up playing the finals with less than half our team."

What You Should Know About the USASA Player Accident & Liability Insurance

AIG LogoBy Brooks McCormick

This summer I appointed Fritz Marth to chair an ad-hoc insurance committee to bid out USASA's insurance, each regional director appointed a member of the committee from their region.  The Executive Committee voted to hire an insurance consultant (John Sadler) to assist and advise the committee in their task.

As a result of that process the Executive Committee accepted the bid from AIG Insurance Group with Tom Hayes and Des Champs and Gregory remaining as our agents.  The resulting decrease in premiums was approximately $1.00/player.  As you may be aware there was serious negative news last month concerning the AIG holding company that owns the various companies under the AIG umbrella.
