U.S. Soccer's AGM is closer than you think
|
Aloha! U.S. Soccer's Annual General Meeting is fast approaching. The event, to be held at the Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort in Waikoloa, Hawaii, is schedule to kick off on February 14 through Feb. 17.
The U.S. Adult Soccer Association (USASA) will open its sessions with regional meetings on Friday morning (Feb. 15), where representatives from each of the four USASA regions will discuss administrative issues, as well as conduct various other businesses regarding adult soccer.
As usual, a USASA Council Meeting will be held to touch on topics such as policy changes, financial plans, and officers and committees reports.
Elections for USASA National Officers will be held at the Council Meeting on Friday afternoon as well. Chairman, Secretary, and Member at Large positions will be appointed at the meeting.

| Online Registration |
 As the online registration system continues to grow, we would like to announce some of the new features that have been added in the last month or two. As suggested at the online demonstration at the Region IV Meetings and Workshops, a test state has been created. Administrators from any state, national/regional league or affiliate will be able to go to this page and try out the system.
There is already some sample data in the test state, but you may also practice uploading some of your own player data or data that you make up. Read More. | |

The U.S. Adult Soccer Association is constantly searching for new programs that are both, suitable and relevant to the member's needs. The Sustaining Membership Program (below) is the newest addition of the organization.

USASA Crowns 2008 Donnelly Cup Champions |
 The USASA's George F. Donnelly Cup came to a close on Monday, January 21, as the State Select Teams battled for the National Championship title in a 3-game series, at the Home Depot Center, in Carson, California.
Utah women's Select Team won 2:1 against Massachusetts, making them the official champions of the 2008 Donnelly Cup in the women's division. Katie Larkin was named the Women's Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament.
Illinois blanked North Texas 6:0 in the final game to claim the George F. Donnelly Cup in the men's division for a second year in a row. The Men's MVP was Jovan Bubonja. Read More.

| Meet the Illinois Men's State Select Team |

The two-time USASA Donnelly Cup champions is more than a squad performing on the field. Their victory in 2007 was the first time in its 90-year history, to duplicate the same episode at the 2008 national championship.
The Illinois State Select Team is certainly one of the top devoted adult teams out there.

| USASA Women's National Select Team back from International Tour |

 After a one-year hiatus, the USASA Women's National Select Team traveled south of the border, this time to face the Mexico Women's Olympic Team in a two-game series, played on the 25 & 27 of January.
 Over 3000 people in Jalapa, Mexico witnessed the inaugural match, where in the 52nd minute, a free kick goal permitted the neighboring country to claim the victory over USASA's Select Team, to finish with a 1:0 loss. Read More.

The 2008 USASA Veteran's Cup has been set for July 8-13, 2008, and is being held at the Northwest Soccer Park in Bellingham, WA.
Referees are needed, and that's why event coordinators are already looking for those individuals who would like to referee the exciting 2008 tournament! Read More.

Playing soccer is an exhilarating feeling, but doing it for a good cause it is even more fulfilling.
The Arkansas State Soccer Association (ASSA) is honored to host its first annual "Kick for the Cure" tournament, to be held at the Burns Park Soccer Complex, in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
This great tournament will kick off on March 15-16, and all proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation; an aid organization that does fundraising for breast cancer research. Read More. |

Colorado State Soccer Association elects New President |
 The Colorado State Soccer Association (CSSA) starts off the New Year with a new President.
David Campos, a native of Guadalajara, Mexico, has been officially elected as the President of the Colorado association.
Mr. Campos, who has been involved in the game for over twenty years, started his soccer career back in 1987 as a professional player for "Club Guadalajara" in Mexico. Read More.

| New Governance Structure for Georgia Amateur Soccer Assoc. |

The Georgia Amateur Soccer Association announces the adoption of a new set of bylaws and governance structure that will rule hereafter; the rearrangement took place at the association's annual general meeting in Atlanta, GA.
As of January 26, there is one Georgia Soccer Board of Directors; which removes each of the separate boards for the youth and adult divisions that used to govern the association. Read More.
