Winter Flavor - Jamaican Me Crazy

PirateAhoy mateys, don't touch me coffee, Arrr! but you can buy it...he he.

I have fought tens of hundreds to bring you, me beauties, this medium roasted coffee with an island blend of Kahlua, caramel, and vanilla.

One sip of this wintry warm concoction and you be all warm and fuzzy. But beware of the Brethren of the Coast who will try to sneak a cup or two.

Avast, Jamaican Me Crazy is available for a short time only - so hurry and order yours today!  Click here to order.
My Favorite - Kenya AA EuroPrep Select and Select +

CheetahEveryone asks me what is my favorite coffee and I say my Kenyan;  then they look at me as if I am from another planet (a look I seem to get a lot).

Why do I like this most heavily acidic coffee? The acidity here is the sharp flavor when you first take it in - an almost overwhelming snappy pop! Some new coffee drinkers (yes, there are such things) may see that as a defect, but it most clearly is not. Kenya uses an auction system to bring its coffee to market, and grades the coffees according to finish. We carry the AA which is the highest grade, and the EP (EuroPrep) which indicates it is processed to higher standards than other AA graded coffee. Anyway, this coffee has a great wineyness to it, with light body. The added plus is the berrylike finish. This coffee will let you know it is a legend.  Get yours today.

So you think coffee is just for drinking - think again.  Here are some facts about coffee from the timeline of history.

  • 1900 - Hills Brothers begins packing coffee in vacuum tins, spelling the end of the ubiquitous local roasting shops and coffee mills.

  • 1901 - The first soluble "instant" coffee is invented by Japanese-American chemist Satori Kato of Chicago.

  • 1903 - Germans perfect the process of removing caffeine from the beans without destroying the flavor.  They market it under the brand name "Sanka".  Sanka is introduced in the United States in 1923.

I hope you have enjoyed this edition of our newsletter and will consider sharing it with a friend or two.  Better yet - why not share some Poverello Coffee with them?

Take care,

Mark Piva
