As many of you know, I love working with animals.  Originally, I started sharing Reiki with just dogs, but have since expanded my services to include working with cats and now horses!  (New pictures will be posted on our website soon; for a sneak peek, to the right you can see "Mr. Rowan" thanking me for his Reiki Session!)  Not only that, I have been sharing Journey Processes with many of my animal friends; and the results are nothing short of amazing!  For so long now, my deepest prayer has been to further my work with animals in some way. 

 

In November, I was with The Journey(tm) again for the Manifesting Abundance Weekend with Brandon Bays.  At that time, we were told to be careful what we focused on manifesting, as we would get it!  My prayer wasn't an unfamiliar one:  to successfully further my work with animals.  Of course, I figured that would mean with Reiki and hopefully, The Journey(tm).   

 

Now here we are, a few short months later, and yes I've expanded my business by working with more animals.  But even more than that has happened!  My Animal Reiki Teacher, Kathleen Prasad, founded a new, non-profit organization called SARA (Shelter Animal Reiki Association), of which I was thrilled to become a founding member (especially since I regularly share Reiki with the beautiful shelter animals at St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center in Madison, New Jersey).  The Mission of SARA is:  (1) To bring Reiki to shelter animals for their relaxation, stress-relief and healing; (2) To promote the best ethical approach for working with Reiki and animals and to educate others about Animal Reiki and (3) To document Reiki treatments with shelter animals and the observable effects in the Catalog for Animal Reiki Education (CARE) Database.  Those who know me well, understand why I wanted to be part of such a great cause!

 

One night, my teacher and her co-Director, Leah, told me they had to speak with me as soon as possible.  Their reason was very cryptic, at best.  I wondered if I forgot to do something I was supposed to do - did I not fill out paperwork correctly, did I miss a deadline....what?!?!  The fact that they asked me to be on a conference call at 10:15 PM only added to my confusion (they are both out in California and they promised that the call would be brief - yet it was something they needed to talk to me about on the phone and not e-mail).  So after celebrating Passover with Jeff's family, I came home and anxiously dialed the California phone number.  Not knowing what to expect, you can well imagine my surprise when Kathleen and Leah asked me if I would "consider" being their third Director for SARA.  YES!!!  I hung up the phone in shock!  I felt so grateful and so humbled.  I was asked by my Animal Reiki Teacher to work alongside of her (WOW!); and although I had just recently "met" our other co-director, Leah, I felt an instant bond with her and couldn't believe she, too, had such trust and faith in me for SARA's great causes.  There are so many amazing, gifted, loving members in SARA, and I can't believe that me, here on the East Coast, was picked by these two directors out on the West Coast.  More amazing than any of that though (and this is all amazing), my deepest, heartfelt prayer is being answered.  What I had prayed for during that Journey Weekend had indeed been answered - just not in any way I had ever anticipated.......it was even greater!  

 

Sometimes, prayer is not answered the way we expect it to be.  I "assumed" (never assume) that if God were to answer my prayer, he would bring me more canine clients or maybe working with a veterinarian.  Never, did I think I would be working alongside my beloved Animal Reiki Teacher and for such a great cause yet, to boot.  WOW!  God Is Good!
