Shop Detroit 6: Are You In? On Saturday, December 12 the WA3 is proud to sponsor the 6th Annual Shop Detroit event produced by Detroit Synergy, a Detroit based non profit organization. This year's event will highlight the great shops and restaurants in four of Detroit's core shopping districts: Downtown, Midtown, New Center and Eastern Market. This year shoppers will be wowed not only by the discounts and unique wares participating retailers are offering but by a number of new elements. New this year with the Winter Olympics right around the corner, Destination Vancouver will roll into town in collaboration with Shop Detroit. A showcase of Winter Olympic athletes, this special event will feature a the unveiling of a special edition book, official Winter Olympic jewelry, athlete appearances and more. Music lovers will rejoice as they grove to sounds spun by a rotating cast of special guest DJ's at Pure Vinyl presented by Panache Entertainment. Participants can check in for the shopping extravaganza at Compuware Headquarters located at 1 Campus Martius in the heart of downtown Detroit. Breakfast With Santa
Looking for a way to bring the family together for the holidays? The Whitney's Santa Claus Brunch is the perfect way to do it. Held on Sundays from 10:30a.m.-3p.m. now thru December 20th Santa will merrily stroll around the mansion taking pictures with the youngsters and wishing holiday cheer to all. There will also be a pianist playing your favorite holiday classics. The Brunch is $29 per person, children 5-12 will pay their age and children 4 and under eat free. Fine Dinning That Won't Break the Bank Explore fine dining on the byway for as little as $19! With fierce competition for your dollar, some of the area's best restaurants such as The Whitney, Cameron's Steakhouse and Forte are all rolling out the red carpet in hopes of luring you in. Tuesday-Thursday the legendary Whitney restaurant in Detroit is offering a special rotating four-course meal at $35 dollars. Just off the byway in Birmingham Cameron's Steakhouse delights you inner foodie with a several 3 course meals from $35-45 dollars seven days a week. Neighboring Forte is currently offering $44 dinner for two special featuring their signature Firecracker Chicken.

Pontiac Rings in the Holidays with Extravaganza

Ring in the holidays with the City of Pontiac as they celebrate the season along side Auburn Hills, Waterford and Walled Lake hosting the Holiday Extravaganza. One of Oakland County's oldest holiday parade and festival, the event takes place Friday December 4th - Saturday, December 5th with activities throughout downtown Pontiac. Presented by Genisys Credit Union, the Holiday Extravaganza has something for kids of all ages. On Friday, festivities kick off with the Annual Tree Lighting and Community Caroling event starting at 6:30 p.m. on the corner of Saginaw and Huron. Hosted by the First Presbyterian Church featured carolers include students from Owen Elementary, Will Rodgers Elementary and the OLHSA Head Start Program. On Saturday, bring the entire family downtown for a variety of winter fun events. Starting at 8:30, tour the Gallery of Ice, where master ice sculptors will have their work on display along with a live demonstration. There will also be a petting farm on site sponsored by Waterford Township. The Woodward Avenue Action Association would like to thank each and every one of you for all of your support in what has been an incredible year for our organization. Together we celebrated the best in design and business along the byway at our Woodward Corridor & Design Awards, helped brides discover bliss in finding all their needs with Weddings on Woodward, gave the corridor a spring cleaning with Clean the D, recognized the 100th anniversary of the first mile of concrete paved highway in the world, met the Community Foundations' Arts & Culture Challenge and more. | Byway Feature : Noel Night
On Saturday, December 5th, Midtown Detroit will come alive for the 37th annual Noel Night. Produced by the University Cultural Center Association, this event celebrates the cities diverse holiday traditions and the state's premier arts and cultural institutions, historic churches and neighborhood galleries, providing the perfect backdrop for a festive evening packed full of performances to enjoy with family and friends. This free family fun event will run from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. As with every year Noel Night features holiday activities such as horse-drawn carriage rides, carolers, music, dance, children's activities, arts & crafts, shopping, and holiday delectables. This year over 45 different venues will be offering special programming and offers to patrons. Good Girls Go to Paris Crepes offering over 30 crepes while listening to guitarist Chris Flynn. GGGTPC is located in the Park Shelton at Woodward and Kirby. Next door at Lepold's Books, attendees can not only pick up a great read, but kids can make their own books. Over 100 performances are sure to bring the sounds of the season to life, including Noel Night favorites like Detroit R&B soulstress, Thornetta Davis, who will be performing at the Detroit Public Library at 7:45 p.m. The CutTime Players, a versatile ensemble of eight world-class musicians from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, performing holiday classical favorites at 8:00 p.m. New performers to the Noel Night lineup include the University of Detroit Jesuit Show Choir performing at 8:00 p.m. at the Detroit Public Library, New York-based jazz vocalist Allan Harris will perform the music of Nat King Cole at the First Congregational Church at 7:45 p.m. Actors from Wayne State University's Bonstelle Theatre will perform vignettes from "A Christmas Carol" at the Detroit Institute of Arts at 5:30 p.m. Dance Thru History will perform at the Detroit Historical Museum at 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. In addition to the concerts, holiday food bites and more, attendees can see spectacular ice carving as the Bank of America Ice Scraper Challenge, returns to the DIA Plaza. Sculpture students from Wayne State University and the College for Creative Studies compete under the direction of world-class ice sculptor, Tayana Raukar, who will also create her own sculpture. A Celebration of Architecture & History in Detroit's Boston Edison Neighborhood

Celebrate the holiday season with a tour of the historic homes in one of Detroit's most legendary neighborhoods, Boston Edison. Join the Historic Boston Edison Association for the 30th annual Boston Edison Holiday Home Tour on Sunday, December 13. Five homes, decorated for the holidays, are open for the annual tour. Participants will have the opportunity to step back in history to take a rare peak inside of the homes of some of the most influential people in history: Henry Ford I, Charles Fisher, James Couzens and S.S Kresge. The tour begins at Sacred Hart Seminary and buses will depart from there every 20 minutes from 10: 00 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a bus tour with minimal walking. Tickets for this Holiday Home Tour start at $20. On Saturday, December 12 there will be a VIP Preview Party at visionary retailer B. Siegel's home with a sneak peak of the other homes on the tour.
