Flowers To Remind Us Our Creator
Genesis 1:11 "God said, `Let the land produce vegetation: seed bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds."
Psalm 8:1 "O Lord how majestic is your name in all the earth."
In March, thanks to the generosity of Trader Joe's of Reston, our clients were able to pick a beautiful bouquet of flowers to take home along with food during their pantry appointment. The flowers are a cheerful reminder of our great God, the creator of heaven and earth who has provided new life in Christ.
Happy Easter, everyone!

Spring is Here!
That is always a reminder of Easter, which reminds me of new beginnings. New life, new hope, new things. While new things are sometimes a blessing, I also love to reflect on the past, and with this being our 25th anniversary at WFCM, we are celebrating all year. Our clients may have come and gone over the years, our staff and volunteers have changed, and our "look" and location have even morphed over the years, but one thing has remained: our mission.
I am curious about how many of you may have photos or memories of the early years (1987 or beyond) that you would be willing to share with us, as we prepare for our new video and our Annual Fellowship Dinner (Oct 12, 2012). If you were involved with WFCM in the past 25 years - as donor, volunteer, or staff member, please give me call or send me an email so we can talk further about your experience. My hope is to create a "collage" of memories to share in a slideshow and during our dinner in October.
God has certainly blessed us this past 25 years, and He has continually walked us through hard times and fruitful times such as the present. Our clients who were once hopeless have received basic services such as food, clothing and financial assistance, as an expression of His love. And at this Easter time, let us not ever forget His greatest act of love - the sacrifice of His son, Jesus. What great news that we have eternal life through Him!
Isaiah 43:19 says, "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."
God bless you,
Melissa M. Jansen

WFCM: A Blessing
By Lillian Diaz
WFCM is a blessing to many families. However, we should all keep in mind that this ministry has a huge treasure to give and share with others: The Gospel. This is the good news that Jesus, the son of God, came to us and paid the price of our sins in full, on the cross, so that we might have eternal life. As the manager of the WFCM Thrift Store, I've been blessed with the chance to share The Gospel with many people who have made the decision to accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior of their lives. What a beautiful opportunity to do what God has called us to do. Through WFCM I've not only had the opportunity to give others food and clothing, but I've been able to share the Word of God, invite them to become a part of the church family and begin a new life where they can know what it is to have an intimate relationship with God. I've been able to encourage them to pray daily, read the Bible and give testimony through their own lives to reach others, especially the lives of their families. May God continue to bless this ministry and may it be a blessing to others. Thank you Lord, for your infinite grace, mercy and love.
