ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

WFCM is pleased to announce the opening of it's newest office, in Centreville!

On September 1, 2010, WFCM added a second office in a new community. County data and our own increasing phone calls for basic needs clients led us to go out to Lee Highway, at the intersection of Route 29 and Stone Road.

This new office is located at 14631 Lee Highway #313, and is near London Towne Elementary, one of the highest free and reduced lunch program schools. We will offer emergency food and toiletries, school supplies, financial assistance, budgeting classes, life skills counseling, and anything else we can offer to serve that community. With support already pouring out from the local Centreville churches and schools, we hope to tap into volunteers, business support and grants which will allow us to continue to serve there through the years.

Currently, the office is open Monday-Friday, 10 am - 2pm. Staffing includes a Community and Client Coordinator, Client Services Volunteers, and a part-time Grant Writer. Volunteers are greatly needed, and weekly emergency food bags as well.

For more information on how you can get involved with the Centreville WFCM office, please call Melissa Jansen at (703) 988-9656. And please come by during office hours to take a tour and see our beautiful new office for yourself!

THANK YOU, Centreville Baptist Church!

Centreville Baptist Church sponsors Operation Serve twice per year, serving the local community and WFCM with service projects.  In addition to collecting food for our Pantry, Operation Serve BUILT SHELVES for our new emergency Food Pantry at the Centreville location and helped with home repairs for a few of our clients.  We are extremely grateful.  Thank you!

2010 WFCM Holiday Basket Program

Every holiday season, schools, organizations, churches, families and individuals can pledge to provide food baskets to the needy in our area. WFCM distributes baskets in coordination with area public schools. Students must be receiving free or reduced cost lunches to qualify. Generous donations help numerous families in western Fairfax celebrate the holidays. Over 1,100 holiday baskets are distributed annually.

If you are interested in being a sponsor, please fill out the sponsor form and return it to Cindy Nichols.  All questions and comments can also be directed to Cindy via email or phone at (703) 988-9656, x. 105.  Thank you!
