| 2008-09 Sacramento County Budget |
|
The County is in the process of developing a budget for the 2008-09 fiscal year. The budget outlook is bleak with significant deficits projected at both the State and County levels. Member Advisory Boards (MABs) are highly encouraged to maintain open lines of communication with representatives from your respective County programs and Departments throughout the budget process. Representatives from the Human Services Coordinating Council will be visiting each MAB in February or March to provide more information on the budget process. | Sacramento County Legislative Policy Document |
Leslie McFadden, the County's Legislative Advocate, presented the County's 2008 Legislative Policy Document at a hearing on January 22, 2008. The Document included County Departments and Advisory Boards Recommended Legislative Policy Changes as well as General Legislative Policies. The Legislative Policy Document is used by the County to streamline the process for engaging in advocacy around State and Federal legislation. The Human Services Coordinating Council and the Children's Coalition were both able to submit recommendations for inclusion. Because State and Federal legislation has a direct bearing on programs and services delivered at the County level, all MABs should be apprised of the policies included in the Policy Document.
