Marcos Popovich Presents at Student Leadership Conference

Marcos Popovich, USHLI Director of Operations, conducted a workshop on leadership development at the 12th annual college recruitment fair sponsored by ALSAME (Advocates for Latino Student Advancement in Michigan Education).  The event, hosted by Ferris State University in Big Rapids was attended by 600 students representing 19 high schools.  Recruiters representing 20 colleges and universities sponsored exhibits at the college recruitment fair. 

 

The keynote speaker was Roy Juarez from Las Vegas and one of the best motivational speakers in the nation.

Mary Lou Mason, Executive Director of the Michigan Commission on Hispanic Affairs said, "It was good to see USHLI partner with ALSAME, a coalition of colleges and universities that strive to increase the number of Latino students enrolled in post-secondary education, which is what USHLI is doing through its Student Leadership Series nationwide.  This partnership will help increase the impact of their efforts."

What: The Buick Division of General Motors has donated a 2012 Verano to USHLI to raise funds for scholarships and internships. The ticket price is $100. 

 

When: Raffle ticket sales will end July 15, and the winner will be announced at USHLI's Annual Dinner on August 16, 2012.

 

How: Tickets can be purchased with a check or credit card by calling USHLI at (312) 427-8683. **Tickets may not be purchased over the internet.
